Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder that causes a person to become afraid to leave environments they perceive as "safe". In some cases, a person may consider their house as the only safe place and refuse to leave for days or even months. Some symptoms include panic/anxiety attacks, low self-esteem that can lead to d3pr3ssion (but not always), anxiety around "unsafe" places, and many more. Experts believe that agoraphobia starts as mild anxiety caused by a stressful event that causes the person to associate the cause of their anxiety with that place and limit interaction with it. As a person has more anxiety they may rule out more and more places soon limiting their only safe place to their house. How will that affect Pebble? Well, xe associates the clans as "unsafe" and thinks that the Edge of the Forest is the only safe place. They also consider clan cats (or any other cat for that matter) as "unsafe" and have extreme anxiety when interacting with them (hence their decision to stay in solitary). Pebble may have uncontrollable panic attacks at times and refuse to interact with anyone or even leave their shelter in the Edge of the Forest.
