So I just saw the teaser for the live action remake of HTTYD and let’s just say, shut up and take my money Dreamworks, it look AMAZING! I have high hopes that Dreamworks is going show Disney how to properly make good remakes the same way they did with sequels. But anyway, I’ve been wondering what remake they would make next if this one was a success and I think I figured it out. Their biggest franchises are Shrek and Kung fu Panda; Shrek 5 is coming out next year so that’s probably their current main concern for the Shrek franchise. KFP, while it is animal centric, it is doable considering what Disney did with the Lion King. But since they are planning more films it’s another matter of their current main focus with the franchise. Considering what remakes have worked in the past with Disney, The Croods seem like the next logical remake. It has great chances for action sequences, breathtaking Avatar-like sets and imagery, and it was Oscar nominated for Best Animated Feature. The Croods franchise is also pretty dormant since the tv series ended. I was gonna say maybe Megamind but I think they are too busy with the new series they keep trying to push. If a Croods remake happens and it looks as good as the HTTYD remake it’s gonna be great. Although, in terms of hopes: I’d REALLY love a Prince of Egypt remake! Anyway, those are just my thoughts. What do you guys think?
