Press the "Generate ____" buttons. Click the flag to clear all the names.
Update 1: Now with unique first names! Some of the elf ones are a bit strange and impossible to pronounce (three "i"s in a row!), but I'll sort it out. Also, there is a slight chance of getting "Legolas". Just ignore that. And the name is all in one box, rather than separate ones. Update 2: Added Goblin name generator! Goblins are a proud people, creating titles after their deeds and accomplishments, and each of their names tells a story. For example, a goblin named "Fighter of the Lake" may be named after a big fight he had with a water monster. Their names are shortened to initials in casual occasions. "Fighter of the Lake" would be called "Fil". Update 3: Added Dragon name generator! Dragons have relatively simple first names, but harsh-sounding and complicated "clan names", or family names. I also updated the first names for the dwarves and elves so they make a bit more sense. Update 4: Added the Merfolk name generator! Merfolk have simple, almost bubbly sounding names, with letters like "B" "V" and vowel sounds being common. Their last names follow the same pattern as the dwarven and elven ones, with more aquatic words. Also, the button size and shapes have been updated to make more room. Update 5: Added an alpha for the Human name generator! It's still a work in progress, as I have to make names that sound human without being real names. Update 6: Got rid of the human name generator. I don't like it. Update 7: Added a few bits to the Dragon name generator. First off, I've added the more conventional two-word surname to the name. Also, in parentheses, I have added the actual Draconic translation of that surname. Yup. Someone went and made a Draconic language. Bless 'em. These ones are mostly unpronounceable, but it's not too bad. Update 8: I've added a human generator that actually works! The first names are inspired by Arthurian names, and the last names are Victorian, creating what I think is a good pseudo-European sound. Update 9: Added the dark elf name generator! Dark elves, or drow, are a type of elf banished into underground caves for their evil ways. Now, they live in huge cave cities, scheming against the surface world. Dark elves have harsher-sounding elven names, and surnames based around spiders, poison, and demons, their allies and weapons. There is also an elvish translation of the surname, like with the Dragon names. Update 10: New translated elvish surnames! Yay! Next up, the dwarves, and maybe a rearrangement of the buttons. A scroll bar, maybe. Update 11: Added the translations of the dwarven and merfolk surnames. These are also kind of unpronounceable. That seems to be a thing with these fantasy names. Update 12: Added halfling name generator! Halfings, or hobbits if you don't mind lawsuits, are basically short incredibly happy humans. The live in cottages, or their famous "hobbit-holes", in a peaceful, cozy life. Some halflings decide to travel the world, becoming adventurers. Update 13: Added the demon name generator! Demons are evil monsters that are native to the Underworld. They embody fear, darkness, and everything bad about humanity. They have intimidating names like "Souleater" and "Swordswallower". Update 14: Changed the demon name generator, got rid of the dark elf name generator to fix it, and moved the buttons to increase visibility. Next, I'll sort out the dragon names. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So. I write fantasy stuff a lot. And one thing I always have trouble with is the names and surnames for fantasy races. So, I made this simple project to randomly create a name. Surnames for fantasy races tend to be a combination of two words. These words are different for each race. For example, dwarves have more words based around rocks and mining, elves have more natural words, etc. Some generated names can be a bit odd (Stonestone, Rockrock, and Fireflame are all possible dwarf names), or are real things or names (Firewall, Blackbeard, Greenstone). I hope people other than me can take advantage of this. Feel free to suggest other name generators I should make. Inspired by this: http://ebon.pyorre.net/
