Anyways, the theme of the contest is "sad poems" this one isn't very sad if I'm being honest but whatev. I honestly am not really proud of it but again, whatev?? Gosh this is my THIRD TIME changing it:3 Um yeah, I wrote this like 2 weeks ago...I present to you.... "Flying" all by me, @Botanokinesis_Girl A girl looks out her window, Knowing there must be more, She gazes at the flock of birds, Who were graceful beyond words, Wings tied back fight their holdings, Her character ever emboldening, With a flare of courage, she opened the window and leapt, She took off, wings spread to the sky, Her face smiled and her heart soared, All the worries ceased, Her soul found the missing piece, But then the skies darkened, And wind took out her flame, The trauma left her never being the same, She trusted for the first time, But it came crashing down. Now a lonely girl walks the shore, A hole in her heart is so sore, She feels it every time she takes a breath, with every beat, As she walks down a dangerous street. Her wings itch to fly, to graze the never-ending skies. Her parents give her worry-filled looks, Her true friends are all in her books, An ache so deep hurts more and more, As she travels this long shore, And as the sand turns into stone, and dirt into metal, She feels like a rose losing its petals, With a face turned to the sun, she leaps, never giving her past a look, Not even one. She takes off, Like a bird, Never to be seen again ---------------------End------------------ Ummm yeah I did that whoo hoo Congrats @bwidy !!
