Credits to Insomnia Games for Resistance: Fall of Man (1) to Resistance: Burning Skies (4). This particular look for our protagonist is from near the end of Resistance 2. During Fall of Man (1) he was infected with an alien virus that these aliens used to convert people into instant soldiers. Unlike other subjects, he retained his humanity and, most importantly, his loyalty to the human race. Instead of being found comatose like other victims, He was awake, and eager to get back into the action. Skip forward to Resistance 2, and the virus is beginning to overtake him. His looks are changing. He had the golden eyes of a Chimera (the aliens) and his body is beginning to change to be more like them. He slowly loses his ability to cope with heat, he slowly loses his hair, and he's just changing for the worst. Luckily, a military scientist has found a way to slow the virus. Skip to near the end of the game, and he is near fatally wounded during a mission. The Chimera Virus is what saves him from death, due to the regenerative abilities it grants him. But by the time he's found, the virus is too far along to stop, giving him a time frame of mere hours. He uses these last hours to complete one last mission. A mission to take a large Chimera base. The mission was a success. Afterwards, he finally succumbed to the virus. His last words were the same spoken by the game's main antagonist at the beginning of the game. Before his ex-comrades shot him, he uttered these words. "They are calling. Can you hear it? It is beautiful."
