I opened my eyes to see Luna’s face; paler than usual and filled with guilt. The smell of potions and medicine filled my nose as I adjusted my eyes to meet Pandora, Carlene, Regulus, and Remus. All standing behind Luna. What had happened? Why was I in the hospital wing in these paper-white sheets? I tried to remember what happened, my last memory was me and Hermione, lying down in that room, talking about our futures. No, that must’ve been a dream- a flashback. I tried to remember what happened: The white pearly wolf digging her razor-sharp teeth into my pale skin, the full moon glowering down apoan us as I screamed in terror. Yes, that is what happened. Luna turning into the beast and biting me. I signed to Luna just to confirm that terrible memory. ‘Inka,’ Luna signed before me, coming forward and examining my leg. It wasn’t a pretty sight; a long gash spread across to the knee, just right above it was the remnants of small little islands of bite marks, scattered across to make the image of a vicious wolf jaw. ‘How are you feeling?’ she asked, her face sadder and less whimsical than usual. ‘I’m fine, Luna. But is there something wrong? You seem more-’ I signed but she pushed my hand aside and started signing. ‘Inka, I’m so sorry, I should’ve known better that to-’ I felt the anger bring me back as I pushed Luna’s hand away, why didn’t she let me finish my sentence? What was so wrong with asking her what was wrong. ‘Listen to me, Luna,’ I signed more seriously, glancing at the rest of our friends who looked quite... uncomfortable, ‘What’s wrong? You can just tell me’ Luna sighed; suddenly, she didn’t seem to want to tell me what was wrong. ‘Luna?’ I pushed a lock of her bright blonde hair away from her face. ‘Inka, you're a well-’ She stopped signing, her face drained the usual energy she had, her stormy grey eyes lacked the shine of enthusiasm. ‘I’m a what, Luna? What am I?’ But I already had a hint of what it was, and it filled me with dread to the brim of what it was. Just then, Carlene stepped forward with a notepad, writing the very words I had been dreading. ‘You're a werewolf, Inka’
Sorry for the short chapter, I didn't really have much motivation. I didn't make the cover in Pxlr e after all because it's just not meant to be :) Carlene:
