this is kinda a lazy project i know, and this was a few weeks old now but i want to talk about it. scratch has recently announced scratch 4.0 in a job description, that says that scratch 4.0 will have a "reimagined online community and creative ai". Now many people were freaking out when this info was first announced. why would scratch make ai? doesn't that defeat the whole point of scratch? well, firstly, they aren't implementing ai image generation, as they have experimented with that in 2023, and scrapped it. i've heard people say that they think it could be ai writing code, but personally i dont think that is what is going to happen. maybe it will be like a chat bot of some sort, that you could ask questions to, maybe it's a new tts maker or improvements in the sound editor, maybe better blocks that implement machine learning, we don't know yet. i am not in any way some kind of "ai bro", i do think ai is terrible, but calling this "the end of scratch" is highly dramatic. also if im being honest, im probably quitting. i just, don't have any more motivation for this website. it's boring now. i might move to youtube, idk, but i'm basically done here.
