----------------------------------------------------------------- ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀SPECIAL ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀by aaron (@-revery) ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀a contest entry ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀-------------------- ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀Special; different from what is usual ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀-------------------- I believe we are all special. ⠀ Our planet, our beloved planet, is made up of hundreds of thousands of millions of billions of people, each atom that makes us up unique. I find the concept that no two snowflakes are the same fascinating, because, well, it represents us as humans. ⠀ No two snowflakes are the same. No two humans are the same. ⠀ You'll never find a person that's exactly like you in every single way; and I mean every single way, not a spec different. And, to heck with it, wouldn't life be boring if that were true? If everyone were clones, wouldn't it be exhausting? Wouldn't it ruin the point of socializing, of friends, of dating, of everything we as people depend on so much to live our lives happily? ⠀ We're all special. Some people don't recognize it. Some people, anxious people, heartbroken people, ruined people, believe they aren't. Believe they're copies and they're copiable, believe they can be replaced by someone cooler, someone better, someone prettier or smarter or just plain better. ⠀ But to that I say...no. Never. You aren't replaceable. You can't be copied. Everything about you is amazing, from head to toes; your laugh, your voice, your eyes, your style, your beliefs, your gorgeous perspective on the world, your entire being. None of this can be replaced, and when you finally learn that? When you can finally, after weeks or months or years or decades of heartbreak and trauma, when you can finally say "I'm me. And that's enough."? ⠀ That is the most euphoric feeling in the universe. -----------------------------------------------------------------
