Been awhile since I last worked on this. So...lets get started, shall we? We last left off where Freak pretty much declares that he loves Echo, (did you get the vibe too?) and tells E-404 to do what she can to save Echo! So! Knowing this-what happened to Pretender? Well...he was using one of his servants...so Pretender is still alive and kicking, meanwhile his servant (unknown character) is a pile of metal scraps. E-404 and Pretender no longer have their "Admin Powers" as E-404 has passed them on...but to who exactly? WELL, WE'RE BOUT TO FIND OUT! BECAUSE IN THIS PART OF THE STORY OF CYNTAX, WE GET A NEW ADMIN! (This story may be relatively shorter than most...but it will be more emotional than most...)
It was October 31st...1964. Whilst humans up above, on the surface, were trick or treating with their families...down below...twenty miles deep...in a dark, secluded room...E-404 cradled Echo's head in her lap. Echo was sicker than ever...paler and frailer...gaunt looking...it was as though the virus had eaten away all the flesh beneath her skin, reducing Echo to mere bones and skin. "It's okay...I'm here...Momma's here." E-404 said gently, her voice cracking slightly from emotion. E-404 was once a ruthless, emotionless AI...but now...E-404 was on the verge of tears...as Echo was dying and there was nothing she could do about it. E-404 had long since cleared everyone out, but Freak and Carnage stood guard outside the door with something that would change HISTORY. "It looks like her. E-404 I mean." Freak commented to Carnage whose crimson-colored body gleamed in the dim light. Her neon yellow eyes kept trailing over the strange, sleek metal body that E-404 had clearly put both time and effort into. "I suppose it was intentional...if E-404 is going to do...what she's going to do. You know the dead on floor three? I bet she's gonna transfer Echo's soul into that body." Freak looked surprised. "But wouldn't she risk losing memories? Like...forgetting who I am? Who you are? Or even her own...mother?" Carnage shrugged her shoulders. "E-404, with no doubt, knows the risk. Have a little faith-you've been watching her since she could crawl Freak. If she'll remember anyone, it'll be you and E-404." Carnage bumped her shoulder into Freak's playfully. "I'm worried though...Pretender...what happened to his powers?" Carnage sniffs haughtily. "I keep hearing about this power of his. What is it? Can he like, mind read or something-" "He is-or was-an Admin. Like E-404." Carnage cringed "And we pissed him off? That's not good. An angry Admin is the worst Admin..." Freak could hardly do anything but agree. Admins who abused their power were far more dangerous than any AI. They were unpredictable...the believed limit for this said power...was their imagination. But that was only true to an extent. Reality Manipulation could not bring an entity back to life-or cure Echo apparently...because Pretender did something to the disease that made it that way. (Jerkface) So...it would appear indeed that Echo is doomed to die...but if she forgot Freak...he wasn't sure what he'd do. "I hope E-404 succeeds." He said quietly Meanwhile... Echo sighed as she opened her eyes and gazed up at her Mother's face. "Mother...I know that...well...I'm dying." there was a brief pause of silence before Echo continued in a quiet, whispery voice. "And I know there's a fifty-fifty chance I won't remember you...so I want you to know that no matter what happens next...I love you, and I always have, and you're the best mother I could've ever had even if you are a bit...strange. Which I like. Life is not perfect without one weird thing in it...lucky me, I got fifty weird things going on." Echo coughed a little before continuing. "If I don't remember you...which I'm positive I will...remember those words. please." E-404, with the faintest of motions, nodded her head. "You are...strong. And I am...so...so proud of you." E-404 whispered as she pressed her forehead against Echo's, holding her as close as she could to herself. "You are the daughter I've always wanted, and no one can take you away...not even Pretender. After this...I'll make sure no one hurts you ever again." E-404 paused, waiting for Echo's response...but all she got in return was silence. "Echo?" E-404 asked...but Echo's eyes were closed. "Echo...can you hear me?" And she wasn't moving. "Echo?!" E-404 exclaimed as she cupped her daughter's face between her hands Because Echo wasn't breathing either.
