Please use she/her pronouns for me. -I am a singer, writer, actor, musician, and costume designer. I am also a roleplayer and current manager of RPHive. -I have been a Scratcher for four and a half years (4 ½) (4 1/2), and a member of the Gaehive for about four (4) years. -I am located within EST/EDT (Eastern Standard/Daylight Time, typically GMT-5 or GMT-6) -My hours vary, but typically I am on in the evenings (18:30/6:30 pm and onward). Reasons I would be a good manager: -I am generally a rather patient, cool-headed person, which is a necessary for a role which can be stressful at times. -I am mature and responsible. -I have never once been banned, and I rarely get muted. -I work as a camp counselor each summer, and participate in leadership opportunities at my school. Thus, I have experience being in leadership positions. -I also have multiple siblings, so I have experience with conflict resolution. Downsides: -Because of my personal life, I have very odd and limited hours. I cannot be on during most of the day until the evening, and I try not to be on too late at night. -I am often tired or have very low energy by the time I come on. This means I can't always be at 100% while managing. -I tend to avoid conflict and isolate myself, which can lead to problems if I get overwhelmed and can't deal with things. What can I bring to the table? -I'm not the most unique person, but I excel at seeing things from various perspectives. This is good for better understanding conflict, others, and ourselves. -As a roleplayer and RPhive manager, I can connect to the other writers/roleplayers in the hive, who have a slightly different relationship with the main studio. -I have siblings, some younger and some older, meaning I know how to talk to people and resolve conflicts. I also know how to handle subtle and not-so-subtle bullying. (Application continued in "Notes & Credits")
(Application continued from "Instructions") What would I do to improve the studio? -I would try to offer a place for homework help/tutoring, whether it be a dedicated branch-off studio, my profile, or an extension of an existing place. -I'd try to understand why users who might not be the kindest are the way they are- otherwise, we'd just become more hostile. My recommendations: -Charlie (@sold-my-soul) - Charlie has proven to be very mature, thoughtful, kind, and helpful. Not only are they incredibly well-known and liked, but he also seems to have genuinely attempted to solve issues in the studio, such as harassment or a lack of connection between members. They are also Australian, which means he can manage nighthive and offer a different viewpoint. -Moon (@homo-sec-shoe-whale) - Moon has done much for the studio, including planning and creating many community-building activities. This includes a demographics surveys, a studio anthem, an RPG game, and a flag. -Lyris (@jonbinary) would likely make an excellent manager- she has always been very kind and generally helpful, even on their previous accounts. Lyris actively contributes to a positive atmosphere and is all around a positive influence in the studio. -Saturn (@technologicface) - Saturn is very kind and helpful, and has helped foster a positive atmosphere in the studio countless times. Good luck and best wishes to everyone applying!
