(Update: This is now closed, pending results!) Hehey guyss!!! Finally brushing off the cobwebs and turning my activity around as promised (I've been trying but college is really hard :sob:) so, what better way than a DTA, more specifically a song-based DTA!! >"Ermmmm, what does DTA stand for?" DTA stands for "Draw To Adopt"! It's really easy, all you do is pick a design from the project that you like, and draw them! Entries I like the best will win the design. >"Wow!!!! How do I enter?" So glad you asked figment of my imagination! To enter, all you have to do is remix this project with your entry before the deadline (3/14/25 (March 14th, 2025))! Though keep in mind the contest rules and my TOS in the project (Terms of Service), because if you don't follow them, you'll be disqualified. >Why is your TOS in this project and not in it's own? I haven't made it yet. RULES: -Until you win the designs, they are not yours. You may only use them for purposes related to DTA entries until you have officially won them -I am judging this based on quality of entries and how much effort was put into them, not by quantity of entries or artstyle. Please do not limit yourself to how 'experienced' you are, how many other entries there are or how 'good' you think your art is! -You may enter for multiple, but you can only win one. -There is no limit on how many entry pieces you can make, but remember: quality over quantity! Don't expect to drop 10+ quick and low-quality entries and expect to have it in the bag. -I'm fine with family designs as long as they're not sold or traded. -You may make slight edits, change the species, make them anthro, etc., just don't like- drastically change them. -Do not put others or yourself down! I don't want to see any comments like 'Oough I'm never going to win this my art is terrible' because then you actually wont win it. Seriously it's not cute or quirky it's annoying and comes off as guilt-trippy. -Any art you/enter with use must be your own! Do not trace/steal/use bases/use ai generated images. -Entries must be scratch-appropriate please don't get banned guys. HELPFUL TIPS TO TRY: -Actual effort in entries! Don't expect to dump a ton of half-decent doodles and call it a wrap. Little details like shading, scenes pieces, etc. go a long way! -If you're ambitious (and have the time/energy, please don't burn yourself out or take on work you can't handle!), things like comics, animatics/animations. -Detailed and decently written/thought out bios, backstories and scenes DESIGNS: Design 1: Sparkbird Notes: -Bird-like features (Talons, wings and feathers) are a reference to the song name, 'sparkbird', which is a term used by birders/bird watchers that describes the first bird that got them excited and really into the hobby. -Flowers are a reference to the song's album cover -Freckles on face/wrists are a reference to the line "Every time I check my wrist it's another brand new freckle past another brand new hair" -Glasses/aged features, because the song describes growing up/wasting time a lot and I interpreted it as a song by an old birdwatcher reminiscing the past Design 2: The Main Character Notes: -Face is a theatre mask (Kinda a reference to the line of "I'm the gap between a comedy and tragedy) -Their one eye has a hypnotic effect, which ig could be a metaphor about how they 'captivate their audience' -Many eyes in design, all of which are pointed to the mask -The mask is half-broken, ig also a metaphor of the audience finding the plotholes/cracks in the story -Crown/cloak, because they're the main character and better than everyone else -Puppet legs, as a reference that they are a character in a story/play -Tail made of strings, a nod to the puppets aspect -Quill tied to one of the strings so they can write more stories (about themself) Design 3: Pls Cheat On Me Notes: -TONS of heart motifs (Can you find them all?) -Xs on the jacket. Get it? A song about breaking up with an Ex.. Jacket with X's on it. -Broken horn, while the other curls into a half a heart -Piercings bc why not?? -Fluffy bc it's cute ig -Cliché half a 'BFF' necklace -'tear-stain' markings under eyes Design 4: Hell's Comin' With Me Notes: -Has the horns of a Longhorn cow, for cowboy reasons and of course bc there's a longhorn skull on the album cover -Has features of a snake bc 1. Snakes are on the album cover as well, 2 why not, and 3 the song references the devil a lot, and snakes are often used synonymously with sin. -"bones" on back, because it's cool idk -Cowboy. Why would it not be it's Poor man's Poison -Fire details, because silly song with silly theme but it's also a reference to THAT one part of the song, because the fire-colored scars on the body is supposed to look like a rope if you squint. -Tail is supposed to look like a mix between a cow's tail and a whip. -Boots have snakes on them bc why not it's cool.
