I’m Evita, a fellow roleplayer here on Scratch. Aside from roleplaying, I love reading, writing, listening to music, and digital drawing. I started drawing around the time I started roleplaying, and I have relatively recently begun learning to draw humans/humanoids in addition to my usual cat/animal drawings! I’m also a huge TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Game) enthusiast My favorite part about writing is imagery — I absolutely love trying to transfer every detail I envision in my mind into a description, finding the perfect words to paint a picture of the scene. Additionally, I find it really fun to see how relationships between characters develop, especially familial relationships. ─ ❀〖 Roleplay Experience 〗❀ ─ ♫ Stolen kisses, pretty lies ♫ I began roleplaying in December 2019, starting with my first character in TFCRP: Brindlecloud. At the time, I was on the account @cutebunny16161. I had Brindlecloud for about 25 moons and later Bloomsprout for 25 moons on @CloudRoleplay. Eventually, I had Oakburr for 33 moons. My current character, Buttercuprain (on the account @PaintTheSea / @buttercup-meadows), is technically still alive at the moment and is 78 moons if the studio is updated. However, I was very inactive with both Oakburr and Buttercuprain. With Oakburr, I simply wasn’t invested enough from the start, and with Buttercuprain I was very excited but set unsustainable expectations for myself (e.g., constant 8-10+ comment-long responses) that led me to become inactive around the time his apprenticeship began. I plan to set much more realistic, sustainable expectations with myself for Briar. I will likely keep Briar for about 8-9 months! I will try to check Scratch about once a day, and roleplay responses can be expected every multiple times a week. Responses will typically be 1-4 comments long. I will give notice if there is a period of time where I would be less active (which would be a week long)! Besides TFCRP, I was invested in THGRP for quite a while! I had several characters: Cloud, Aurum, Iniko, and Ciana. Now, I’ve rambled on about my past experience for long enough, so I’ll get in to the actual reason we’re here — Briar! ─ ❀〖 Why Am I Applying? 〗❀ ─ ♫ You’re the king, baby, I’m your queen ♫ As you can probably tell by now, I’m applying for Briar! Her design is beautiful — I love all the roses, thorns, and stars hidden throughout the design, and the tabby markings are so pretty! I also love the color of her eyes — the orange with the blue is such a nice combination. I also really like the feathery fur at the base of her tail and her swirled bangs! And the little heart-shaped ear tufts she has are so cute Besides being in love with Briar’s design, I found the description for her intriguing. Her windblown appearance seemed like an interesting trait, giving me the idea that perhaps she’s more of the adventurous type, often wandering into new ways to get into trouble. Meanwhile, her styled bangs give the idea that she is still cares about her appearance despite that. Additionally, I love the dichotomy between a rose’s beauty and its thorns, which are represented in the design. I liked the idea of incorporating those three concepts into her personality. Additionally, the idea of her being “the princess of the family” seems really interesting to me! It’s a sibling dynamic that I really liked for a while, but have never written before, and I’d love to be apart of it. I really enjoyed writing Ciana, one of my characters from THGRP, who was sort of a princess-type character as well, in a very unlikable way. I’ve been wanting to try a personality like that again for a while, now that my writing has grown some, so that I can try improving on the concept. I’d like to try a new twist/interpretation of it as well, and while the basic “princess” concept is shared between Ciana and Briar, I can see many distinct differences between Ciana and the personality I envision for Briar. I don’t want to just play the same character I had before again; I want to try something new with the princess concept. I feel that Briar will help me accomplish that! Besides my excitement about Briar specifically, I love the family and environment involved with the Oaken Daydreams. Both of the parents/parenting styles seem fun to interact with and complement each other really well. [ Continued in Notes & Credits ]
Additionally, the florist shop seems like a very fun setting to raise a character in. I’ve wanted to have a kittypet character for a while, and this seems like a really fun opportunity to do so! Briar would be my last TFCRP roleplay I’ll ever have, and this litter seems like a wonderful place to finish off my time in TFCRP. Lastly, I feel that having a kittypet/loner character will be much easier to keep up with than a clan character. Often, the reason for my perpetuated inactivity in former characters was at least partly because of how difficult it felt to get back into roleplaying with things moving so quickly. As a kittypet, there would be much less stress of falling behind, preventing those negative emotions from causing procrastination. Overall, I’m really excited about Briar’s design, the personality ideas Briar has given me, the family and setting of the litter, and the opportunity to have a kittypet character! As a result, I decided to come back to Scratch/TFCRP to apply. ──── ❀〖 Idea Dump 〗❀ ──── ♫ Wait, the worst is yet to come, oh no ♫ The idea dump is in the comments! ──── ❀〖 Personality 〗❀ ──── ♫ Screaming, crying, perfect storms ♫ 〈+〉Clever, assertive, insightful/perceptive, adventurous, resolute/determined, confident, charismatic, sweet/thoughtful, sympathetic 〈=〉Spontaneous, outgoing, talkative, opinionated, inattentive, image-conscious, dramatic, perfectionistic 〈-〉Deceitful/sly, demanding/bossy, judgmental, irresponsible/troublemaking, stubborn/obstinate, egotistical/prideful, manipulative, selfish, insincere For some of the traits, I used 2-3 adjectives to describe one trait. This is because without more detailed explanations, it can be hard to get my meaning across with one word that could be taken different ways. So I tried to clarify by adding an additional word in some situations. Additionally, “manipulative” can be a strong word, so I’d like to clarify that she’s not trying to hurt people by being manipulative; she simply wants everyone to like her and tries to manipulate others into thinking she’s essentially perfect. Also, where I said “insightful/perceptive,” that was meant to mean sort of good at reading others/noticing things about others, which ties in with her manipulative trait. If you’re familiar with D&D, it’s basically the “insight” skill. ── ❀〖 Family Dynamics 〗❀ ── ♫ I can make all the tables turn ♫ Although Briar has a tendency to form superficial relationships in her social life for the sake of popularity and her need for external validation, she is rather sweet to those she truly cares about, such as her family. She shows this by performing small, often unasked for favors for her family, whether that’s fixing their fur, putting in a good word for them socially, helping them make friends, or advising them on how to become closer to the perfection Briar herself is (according to her, at least). Though she acts rather self-important and judgmental most of the time, she loves her family, and that’s where her sweet, thoughtful side comes out the most. Briar likely tries to seem more nicer than she really is in front of Forest and Cherry Blossom, trying to keep her judgmental comments quieter and her egotistical attitude subtler to keep herself out of trouble. She would still act rather self-important, but would try to put on more of a “golden child” act at times, trying to make them view her as their perfect little princess. Of course, this wouldn’t be entirely successful — they would be bound to notice Briar’s whispering to her siblings at some point, as well as her sometimes selfish demands. She would also be pretty open about her attention-seeking behaviors; she deserves the best, and /everyone/ should know it.
