Backstory: In the middle of SA2's story when running through green forest, (after battling shadow for the first time) Sonic Falls into a portal that teleportes him in the first episodes of of BFDIA in Yoyleland. He then met leafy and she tells him about where he is and the side effects of voyleberries. But leafy starts throwing knives at needy- I mean needle for slapping him (like in the original) Needle and puffball leave while being chased by the knifes. Sonic calls leafy mean and leafy explains what happened before BFDIA. He then feels sad but says she deserved it for trying to buy dream island. Leafy gets mad at this and throws knifes at him, so sonic dodges all of them. He decides to ditch Yoyleland and tries running on the water to get to the main island and away from leafy. He runs to the forest and gets chased by evil leafy. But sonic is too fast for it to catch up, so sonic escapes. He stays in the calm part of the forest, watching some of the contestants, and thinking on how to get back to his world. Because sonic is gone, Tails, knuckles, and Amy team up to try and stop shadow. They sucsessfuly stop eggman and Amy convinces shadow not to blow up the planet (like in the original) Then knuckles goes super and with shadow they stop biolizard and the eclipse cannon. After the events of SA2, the three of them try to figure out what happened to sonic. Tails thinks that he might have been to late from escaping the island before it exploded. knuckles thinks he probably got chaos controlled somewhere else, and Amy thinks the same as tails. They all get realy sad at sonic's disappearance, to the point that Sonic is PRESUMED DEAD. But sonic just follows along with the other contestants in tpot, while some events In sonic games, such as sonic and the black knight, sonic and the secret rings, and sonic generations don't happen due to him being gone. Shadow has to step in as the speedster of the group, because the trio convinced them. Some games are also CHANGED by this, such as Sonic 06, Sonic frontiers, sonic heroes and the Sonic advance trilogy, and some of the other mainline games. The only sonic that they know now is classic sonic. from meeting him in the timeline of Sonic forces.
