Chapter 16-Christmas Time "Lia!" Everleigh squealed, "Wake up! It's Christmas!" At the words "Christmas," Rosalia stirred. "Really?" she asked excitedly, "Christmas?" "See yourself," Everleigh replied. She sat up and saw that more than twenty parcels lay on the ground. "H-how...what?!" She grabbed a present near her bed and saw that it was addressed to her from Ariana. She gently opened it and saw that it was a book on the history of the Wizarding World. She also gave Ariana a book, because she knew that Ariana loved book as well. The title of the book was "Quidditch Through The Ages". Interestingly, most of the parcels there were addressed to her, mostly from Aunt Caroline. "I've never had this many Christmas presents..." she told Luna and Everleigh. After opening all their gifts, Everleigh and Luna went to the Great Hall to eat some breakfast. "Some Christmas this is," groaned Rosalia to herself when they both left. She wished she was able to go out of her dorm and join the feast in the Great Hall and— There was a knock. She opened the door and saw Luna, holding a bottle. "This is for you," Luna said, extending her arm to give the bottle to her, "Professor Flitwick told me to give it to you," "Thanks..." said a curious Rosalia. She took it and sat on her bed as Luna left. "I wonder what this is..." she said. She turned it around and saw a note. "Dear Miss Estelle," it wrote, "Since today is Christmas, we have decided to let you out as long as you drink this potion. We won't give you this everyday because this took months to brew and a lot of expenses. Merry Christmas." She immediately opened the bottle and drank from it. When she finished, she smiled. "Finally!" she said, and she walked out of her dorm. She knew where she was going first: The Great Hall. In the halls, she met someone very familiar. "Hello!" she cheerfully said. Terry turned around and grinned. "I didn't expect you to be out here," he said. Rosalia shrugged. "I know it hasn't been three months but..." "Okay!" Terry replied, "You missed me, I supposed?" "No, she missed me!" Rosalia turned around to see Anthony, whose grin was just as wide as Terry's. "I suppose you've both sorted it out," she said. "Now, c'mon!" Anthony said, "To the Great Hall we go!" They came into the Great Hall and parted ways. Originally, Rosalia was about to search for Luna, but the sight of Ariana caught her attention. "Ariana!" Ariana turned around and beaned with at the sight of her friend. "I didn't expect you to be here!" she exclaimed. Rosalia then told her all about the potion and the note. "Oh, wow..." Ariana replied in amazement, "I'm glad you could come out of you dorm on Christmas! Let's go to our own house tables and eat!" "OK!" It wasn't the first time that Rosalia wished that Ariana and her were in the same house. More specifically, she wished Ariana was in the same house as her. As much as she wanted to be in the same house as Ariana, she wouldn't trade her house for it; Ravenclaw was her home. Ravenclaw was her pride. It was the one house that she felt accepted to be in. Speaking of Ravenclaw, she spotted the Ravenclaw table and sat next to Luna. Luna was wearing beaded radish earrings. "Did you make that yourself?" Rosalia asked her. "Yes," replied Luna, "I'm quite proud of them. Would you like me to make one for you, too?" "Sure!" replied Rosalia, who, despite not believing all of Luna's strange creatures, was in favor of her handmade jewelry. Just then, Dumbledore stood and said a speech. "Merry Christmas to all of you!" he first said. He continued the rest of his speech and Rosalia listened carefully. After he finished, food appeared on the table and everyone's eyes lit up in delight. Before long, everyone was eating and chewing their food in satisfaction. What was even more satisfying for Rosalia, however, was the sight of Terry and Anthony talking and laughing together. "They really did sort it out..." After the feast, everyone was excused to go back to their dorms, or actually, do anything at all. Rosalia tried to squeeze through the crowd of people, but ended up tripping. She heard a girl laugh maliciously. She looked up to see a hard-faced girl with brown hair and greyish-green eyes. Behind her, were many other girls who were laughing maliciously as well. "You know," the girl said mockingly, "I've heard a lot about you. How all along, you thought you were a Mudblood, but you were a Pureblood after all." "If you're not going to make a nice comment, don't make a comment," replied Rosalia coldly. "Look who thinks she's so wise!" another girl behind the hard-faced girl taunted. "Stop it, Parkinson!" Rosalia turned around to see Ariana, looking upset. "Or what?" Parkinson taunted. "Or I'll tell my brother!" Parkinson scoffed and went away. Then, Ariana laughed. (Rest in the notes and credits)
"Honestly," she said between laughs, "I don't think my brother could care any less. In fact, I'm sure he'll support her instead," She gave Rosalia a hand. Rosalia took it and got back up. "That's Pansy Parkinson," Ariana continued, "A Slytherin girl who is honestly obsessed with my brother," "She's obsessed with Draco Malfoy?" Ariana nodded. "I'm pretty sure if my parents knew," Ariana said, "They'd approve it. All they care about is that she's a Pureblood. Anyway, what do you want to do now?" "Hmmm..." Rosalia said, "Well, it's been a while since I've been to the library." Ariana grinned. "Then that's where we're going!" she exclaimed, taking Rosalia's hand and leading her to the library. After reading for a while, the two decided to go out in the snow. They spent the rest of the day building snowmen, attacking each other with snowballs, and after they got back inside the castle, where Ariana had an excellent idea. "Let's get some hot chocolate!" "Agreed." After they had gotten some hot chocolate, they decided to practice and experiment with some spells. "But where should we experiment them?" asked Rosalia reasonably. "The Slytherin common room, of course!" "But I'm a Ravenclaw." "I know, but my common room should be deserted right now; everyone's gone home and the ones who did stay are probably off somewhere." Rosalia sighed. This was her first time breaking the rules. Should she risk it? "Fine," she replied, "As long as I don't get caught," "Great!" replied an excited Ariana as she lead the way to the Slytherin common room. Rosalia couldn't help but enjoy the common room, which main colors were green and silver. After a few hours there, Ariana suggested it best to leave because the Slytherins were going to be back soon. "And plus," she added, "It's almost curfew time," With that, Rosalia left the common room and sighed. "Christmas is almost over," she whispered sadly, "And I'll be back to my dorm again..." ✧✦✧ PRESS SPACE OR CLICK THE STAGE FOR A SURPRISE! Author's note: I posted a chapter at last.
