I have improved. :] This one took about 6 hours to do. I'm really satisfied with how it turned out! PC - space bar to advance, click to zoom Mobile - tap to advance The gap with the first two was 4 months and 1 year. This time it was 2 months and 2 years. What will it be next time? 1 month and 4 years? 3 years? I'm going to critique my old art. Partially because then I can better tell where I've improved most, and partially for fun. 2021: The composition is pretty decent, since I didn't really give much thought to it at the time. Everything looks very flat since the shading is very minimal. The dolphin's fin isn't the right shape (I obviously didn't look at a reference before drawing the dolphin). The highlights in the eyes don't really make sense. the hair... is weird. Something about the volume in different places. yeah. done with this one. 2022: The composition is a bit better. I honestly still really like the water. I can't see anything specifically wrong with the anatomy (accept for the hand and the face). The hair is still not good. the shading is definitely better, but it almost seems like she doesn't have hair on part of the other side of her head. The neck doesn't connect with the head exactly right. The clothing is decent for the time, but there are some places where there should be folds but aren't. The shading is actually still a little flat. Oh, and the line art isn't great. Didn't really know where to make the lines thicker or thinner. 2024 (Compared to the others): I've improved a lot with folds in fabric! Especially recently. The hands are way more correct than the 2022 one. I got a better understanding of the dolphin, and even stylised it a bit. Everything is more painterly. The hair finally doesn't look weird. Everything looks more 3d (I've learnt how to sculpt with colour and tone :D). I actually put some thought into the composition. Using everything I can to draw the eye in. It's looser and a lot more flowy than the other two. Okay, now that I've complimented my own art a bunch (which I hardly ever do) you don't have to!
