So I won't be working on the next part until after Christmas break, thanks for your patience and I hope you all have merry Christmas. Also, December 31st is the one year anniversary of Belonging! Let me know if I should do anything special to celebrate. (Of course it'd have to be after Christmas break 'cause I just said I wouldn't be working on anything. XD) And thanks to a friend of mine, you know who you are, for the quote of "at least it isn't puking rainbows"
Aiden lead me up the stairs and opened a stiff trap door at the top allowing light to flood in. He stepped out and glanced around before helping me to climb out. From my first step I was in awe. I looked around at the great outdoors, it'd been ages since I was last outside. Now here I was. I didn't care about what happened now. I was outside with the wind blowing through my hair and the sun shinning on my face. I glanced over at Aiden, now sharing his goofy grin. "Aiden! This is amazing!" "Isn't it?" He started laughing and I joined him. We must of spent at least five minutes just laughing our heads off. Things were pretty great with the Pack. I was a bit concerned about my family, but things were good overall. Although I had never realized how much I missed being outdoors, even just walking around town. "Okay," Aiden said once he caught his breath "We have to get going if we want to get there in time." "Where?" I asked. "You'll see. " So I followed him on a hike through the woods that reminded me of when my family would go camping. I missed them. But I felt I found a new family with the Pack. Despite how I was just doubting them a few minutes ago, but that was on me not them. I smiled at Aiden, kinda feeling bad about what I was thinking earlier. These were all good people trying to do good things. They had saved me from a burning building and were caring for me and I couldn't so much as trust them. I did feel pretty bad. "So... how's life?" I asked. His smile faded, "It's... life-ing." "Well, at least it isn't puking rainbows." I said. He chuckled a bit, "Yeah that's definitely a plus. I'm just... concerned about this other group." "What do you mean?" I asked, not understanding what he meant by this other group. "We're nearly there, I'll explain later." I had seen Aiden anxious before and maybe a bit on edge. But now he seemed strait out angry. We had been hiking uphill for a while now, so maybe he was just tired. It didn't really seemed that way though. I could see him grinding his teeth as he started hiking faster. Eventually we made it to a clearing. The sun had begun to set and as the branches swayed in the breeze I couldn't help but smile. Aiden pulled a picnic blanket out of his bag and gently laid it on the group inviting me to sit. I laid down staring up at the sky. It was so nice just to get away; to get outside. Aiden sat beside me patiently waiting as I took it all in. He stood up after a while looking down at me with a grin, "You hungry?"
