‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐ೢִֶָ ➮ .° ꒰ overview ꒱ ❀ in a secluded wood, far from localized civilization, resides four groups — or four clans, i should say — of cats. these groups are known as thunderclan, riverclan, shadowclan, and windclan. each lives in a separate part of the wood that reflects their namesake, but we'll cover that momentarily. a small town of humans — or 'twolegs,' as they are affectionately dubbed by the clan cats — lies on the outskirts of the forest. the people populating the town are small business owners, farmers, educators, and wildlife preservers, primarily. they don't venture out into the adjacent forest very often; hiking or camping trips are the only reasons they might. their pet cats — called 'kittypets' — occasionally wander into the wildlands in search of adventure and, sometimes, camaraderie. strays and ferals wander the streets of the small town with relative ease. after all, who's going to ignore the pitiful pleas of a starving loner? but beware; underneath their scraggly appearance lies a sharp tongue and a will to survive at all costs. the four clans live with a mutual dislike of one another, and for good reason. most of their past is fraught with treachery, treason, and battles. however, the clans have come into a new era of relative peace: each are content with their land and their prey, but some still harbor old grievances against their fellow warriors. each territory is located within the same vast, wild wood; however, each also comes with its trademark characteristics and challenges. ✩ thunderclan's home consists of a lush oak and spruce forest with scatterings of birches throughout. a snaking river cuts through the territory and marks the border between it and riverclan; similarly, the spruce trees begin to mingle with a large population of pines along the shadowclan flank of the region. a large outcropping of rocks make for a comfortable lounge area for the resident warriors, and shade — as well as protection — is provided by the leafy canopy above. ꩜ riverclan's territory is carved by a large and steady river with reeds lining its banks. a sparse number of willows dot the land and provide shade for its residents, though most of the land is plainar and similar to that of its neighbor, winclan. the territory is waterlogged and only traversable by the pebbles adjoining the streams. small islets provide firm-footing and small ponds provide shallow sources of water. ☾ shadowclan's possession consists of a dense pine and conifer forest with a few smatterings of spruces along the thunderclan border. the land is a misty, swampish region — much like its riverclan neighbor — lacking the dry locations that most cats would prefer. however, it is also home to a few small hills that are just out of reach of the muddier parts of the wood. a plethora of fungi and deep-forest flora inhabit this part of the vast forest the clans call their own. ༄ windclan's dominion houses a dwindling number of willow trees along its riverclan border and a sparse population of oaks on its thunderclan side. the predominant portion of the land is a seemingly endless plain of tall grass and hilly outcrops. large stones grow from the ground and provide sufficient cover against most windswept elements, but most of their home lies beneath the surface in a series of burrows dug by the cats themselves. these four clans have also formed new traditions in order to maintain stability and peace: gatherings, scavenger hunts, moon pool meetings, cross-clan competitions, festival moons, and more!
