----------------WHERE SNOWBIRDS SING------------------------ The wind calls my name, but I don’t rise, Feathers torn and scattered, beneath the cold skies. The snowbirds sing, a song I once knew, But I am frozen, broken, far from the blue. Their wings are strong, they soar so high, Carving trails across the sky. But here I stand, bound to the ground, Where silence weighs, and dreams are drowned. Oh, where snowbirds sing, I watch and I mourn, Their melodies sting, a heart that is torn. The sky I can’t reach, the cold I must bear, I’m grounded alone, while they dance through the air. The frost bites deep, like memories do, Of golden clouds and skies I once flew. But the trees close in, their shadows grow tall, A forest of sorrow where my echoes fall. I hear the wings that brush the breeze, While I’m left standing in endless freeze. Their voices rise, their feathers gleam, And I am left a forgotten dream. Once I soared, I touched the light, But now my days have turned to night. Frozen earth, my weary throne, A whisper, a shadow—forever alone. The snowbirds sing, and I fade away, A hollow wind, where I used to play. No wings to lift, I've lost everything. Forever lost… where snowbirds sing.
