The Mountain Valley Mall, in North Conway, New Hampshire, was a one level shopping mall that was built in 1980. The mall opened with the anchors of JcPenney, Kmart, Jo-Ann, and Hannaford. During this mall's short life, it didn't gain much attention because it was in such an isolated area of the Northern Appalachian Mountains and wasn't very popular. Because of the vacancy, the Kmart closed in 2000 and Jo-Ann, in 2002. The main part of the mall was demolished between 2006 and 2007. The site of the former had a Lowe's built on top of it in 2008. The JcPenney, in the original building and one of the original anchors, closed in 2020, making Hannaford the only open remnants of the former Mountain Valley Mall. I have been by this mall, but in it's current state.
