If there were such a thing as curses, then Rhuen might've had one. He was born to an overly superstitious mother, who panicked the moment she laid eyes on him. Due to genetic mutation, he was born with orange eyes. His mother called him Rhuen (ruin), sure that he would bring the fall of the Society of The Sand. Obviously, the tiny baby did not. Rhuen was raised on the edge of the desert, isolated. He had only his (admittedly unstable) mother and a houseplant for company. Somehow, Rhuen grew up to be a kind, quiet kid. His social skills were horrible though. At 14, Rhuen returned a bracelet he found to a traveling merchant, In return, he was given a ride to The Society of The Sun. He was estatic to find out that he was just a normal kid with a crazy mum. When Rhuen turned 16, he took a trip to the Society of the Snow. He was looking for a rare plant seed, and he ended up meeting Ayaz. Emotions had been a foreign concept to him for so long, he couldn't figure out how to voice his attraction. It ended with Rhuen shaking him awake in the middle of the night and k!ssing him. Now, Rhuen's just trying to avoid his mother's many, many letters.
