Seems like history may be coming into play, and a young Willow Walker Protector, Auburn, must choose his spot in his story- or the forest may have to be faced with a familiar fate to the one long ago. Chapter 56 —————— It’s often hard to distinguish who is friend, and who is foe. So when a familiar enemy reveals themselves to Toast and Blossom, suspicion rises. Perhaps an understanding will occur? Characters in this chapter ———————————— Toast/Dapple - Beige they-wolf with brown flecks. (They/them) - Butter - Creamed colored tom with a heart marking on chest, and a scarred left eye. - Blossom - Dark purple she with blossom-like light pink spots. - Poison - Purple she with “dripping” purple markings, and very smooth fur. - ‘Mutt’ - Cream and Orange she-pup with bright marigold eyes, and spotted markings. - Chime - Purple, orange and cream spotted she-wolf with flowy fur. - ---------------------------- Total page count : 40
Song : Next Up Forever By AJR ( instrumental ) Artist's Corner -------------------- New chapter as we start of summer break with a bang! School’s out- and free time is back in session. So of course, Willow Walkers is back, in case you hadn’t gotten the message yet! This chapter was very enjoyable to make; particularly because I decided that I’m changing the text box style! I would run into a frequent issue where the text box would practically be invisible next to clouds, or snow, or any lighter colored character- so I changed them to be colored! It’s way easier to see who’s talking (the color of the bubble is their eye color ^^), and also, I’m free from using a bit less white! I try not to use pure white in my art, and refrain from using pure blacks as fur colors. We shall return to Willow Walkers on June 16th, since all I have to do is post it; during vacation! Yeah, we’re going biweekly again, similar to how the schedule was early 2023! I really want to get caught up on the comic after missing it for so long. (Spoilers for chapter ahead) WOW POISON POISON’S BACK EVERYONE CHEER!! Unfortunately she won’t be back for a little while, but next time we do, everything will be at much, much higher stakes. This chapter has many, many hints at future plot points! Have fun scratching through the dialogue and pasting together your thoughts/theories. And we also get a bit of Pine Howler lore; Pine Howlers don’t name their kids until they’re teenagers! The system of the pine howlers is way different than the Willow walkers- hinted in Poison’s bonus chapter, they are classified by their ‘ranks.’ At 7 moons, all pups are put into the bottom of the ranking system. The more they show improvement, the higher they climb. On average, most Pine Howlers reach rank three or four at adulthood. Poison reached rank two; and was shortly brought to rank one; where currently, only three wolves sit. (Freeze, Diamond, Poison.) Is it mutt time? I think it’s mutt time. Also, the ending quote is probably one of my favorites in the comic, next to a quote from chapter 64; it’s simple, but poetic- I suppose.
