1.) Zodiac; First, I went out to pasture to say hi to my buddy. Then I brought my mini horse, Cricket, over so they could meet. Zodiac isn't ready for riding so he spends a lot of time out in the fields. I figured he could use a bestie. So, it's my current mission to find him one. It went pretty well! However, I had other things to do and I couldn't watch them all day so I took Cricket back to her own paddock after the meeting. 2.) Next, I brought Connor in to crossties. I groomed him and tacked it him. He still needs lots of basic groundwork, so I set up a long line of poles and, after warming him up with some walking and trotting, I took him over them both ways. He did really well, really thinking about where he placed each hoof. 3.) I tacked up Ava and lunged her to warm up. She also needs lots of basic groundwork. Then I handwalked her over that same line of poles. It took her a hot minute to figure out that she needed to pick up her hooves to avoid hitting them on the poles, but by the end she was rocking that! To finish, I practiced mounting. She stood so nice and still <3 4.) I got Pharaoh from the pasture and brought him into crossties. Doesn't his fluffy coat look so cute?! I got off all his winter gear then tacked him. I took him to the outdoor arena where I had some jumps set up. We took on those jumps and that concluded my training day!
