❝ Its just something your mother tells you to make you feel better about yourself--because you came out wrong. ❞ Nova and Auburn were Pikefaith's littermates, but unfortunately they didn't have every perk of being a cave cat. Because of this, their father had deemed them useless and trained Pikefaith instead. Sea-sprayspine would often scold them for distracting Pikefaith when they tried playing with him, causing Nova to become resentful and question why his father couldn't just accept that him and Auburn weren't perfect like he wanted. One day, Nova, Auburn and Pikefaith were playing secretly in a cave before Sea-sprayspine found them, scolding Nova much more harsh than usual and dragging Pikefaith away afterwards. But Nova wasn't only yelled at. Sea-sprayspine clawed him in one of his eyes, causing it to go blind. That was the day Nova accepted that he was a failed creation, and now Auburn has to accept that too, before she gets hurt as well. But a blinded eye can be treated quickly. And a shattered heart may take a lifetime to heal.
Nota: the blind eye is the one without irises/pupils AHHH ITS DONE! A little taste for y'all before the 3rd Planet animatic I'm working on! This featuring Pikefaith's littermates, Auburn and Nova! I absolutely loved how this turned out for only a little sketch. There are some frames I wish I was able to do better on, but there also also some I'm very proud of. I hope you enjoy!
