I didn't have the time to work with all of the horses today, so we did a shorter update :) I started by spending some time with our OTTB rescue, Chief. We're trying to get him comfortable enough around humans so that by his next vet checkup he doesn't have to take the risk of being sedated. He's already warming up to people a little bit! Next, I took Farie for a short hack out. She isn't ridden much anymore, but she's still as safe and bombproof as ever even with a bitless bridle. Then I tried riding Dancer, our new-ish project pony. Needless to say, it was not the most fun I've ever had... but we survived! After that, I took Mystic out for some dressage schooling and tried out my Equidry (credit to @ghostsonqs) for the first time! Mystic was pretty unbothered by it, and it kept me warm and dry. Then, seeing as Jasper has finally returned to LRS after his lease, I decided to try and get back on. He's always had a bad habit of bucking when he's overly excited... I took Dakota out on a hack and Waffle decided to tag along. We finally decided to get a cow bell for Waffle for when he accompanies us on trails so that we're able to find him if he strays, and switched Dakota to a bridleless bit because of her poll sensitivity. Finally, I set up a grid in the indoor arena to help prepare Sparkler and Glacier for upcoming shows. They both did super, but Glacier's still learning to go calmly over larger fences so that he can compete in hunters, so I had to do it with him quite a bit more than with Sparkler.
