January - I had a strong start with January with a thumbnail entry for @smbadger's MAP, where I decided to play around and render the fur. I remember being super proud of it, and of course I had to have it as my January piece. February - It was a fairly busy month, so I didn't have a lot of time to work on art. However I did dig up this one piece I'm still quite fond of. I began to experience with different lineart colors and fur rendering again. March - Oh boy, big news! I learned how to draw human side profiles!! Because of my brief Hamilton phase (courtesy of my social studies teacher at the time), I had drawn a piece based on the song "The World Was Wide Enough" (yes that one did bring me to tears). Recently I got to see Hamilton live, so that was a nice little follow up to my not so subtle obsession. Anyways, since then, I've only been improving human side profiles, which I had struggled with up until that point. April - I was super into the generations RP at this time, and Bubblepop was my most fleshed out character, so I drew her with her best friend, Ripplesong (owned by @greenbells, who I can't find anywhere :sob:)! I was just adopting a new eye style so it may look a little funky, but the main point of these pieces was the shading and the background! May - This was definitely my best piece of the month. I've always struggled with drawing dragons from the front (I still do tbh), so this redraw of Peril was a really big improvement!! June - Again, I was very busy this month, so the only thing I managed to find was a MAP part featuring Glory and animating Scarlet. I don't have much experience animating dragons so I was pretty proud of that part. July - This is one of my favorite artfight attacks this year! The character I drew belongs to @WarriorZofFire, and I had to choose it because I feel like the lighting and background just came out so well. It's a very pretty character and I had so much fun with the colors! August - I drew this for an old lady who has the sweetest shih tzu named Tashi!! I tried my best to render the fur, and I think it came out really well! (She loved it <3) September - This September I began to draw humans more frequently, so I could fix proportions, hands, and perspective. This is just a simple little piece of myself as if I were taking a selfie. It was really just for fun, but that one hand did take me around 20 minutes to get right. October - I just drew myself a little pfp with an updated version of my OC! I had to include it because of the shading and lighting, which I've definitely gotten better at. November - Man, I don't even know where to start with this piece. The shading, expressions, hands, background, or proportions!? This piece took me around 3 hours and I began to use a new brush that I've fallen in love with. I usually suck at backgrounds but this one came out pretty well. And can we talk about the hands?? THE HANDS!? This was the point where it just sort of clicked and I was able to draw somewhat decent looking hands. Oh and I can't forget the shading. Oh my goodness. December - December piece, where I think I nailed the proportions even better! I was drawing humans all month and I think it shows in the improvement from just November alone. Anyways, I also think I nailed the shading, and let's not forget, the hands!! I'm getting better at making hands more proportional to the rest of the body (y'know, not too small), as well as experimenting with different hand positions. And there it is! 2024 is a wrap, and I'll only keep improving! My goals for this coming year are: -hands -human side profiles -dragon front profiles Song: Happy New Year by ABBA
