Fictoqueer is an umbrella for fictosexual and fictoromantic, which means having attraction to fictional characters on a more realism side; not just "fangirling" over that character - I am a fictoqueer teenager, I am female identifying and female physically. I am in a fictoqueer relationship with Jinx from Arcane, even though she is apart of the system i'm the host of, I still am in a fictoqueer relationship with her. (as of dec 21st, 2024), this would mean she is my F/O (Fictional other). Usually I do get called a fangirl and harassed just for trying to introject myself into the LGBTQ community. For usual fangirls/fanboys/fantheys, they never really see into that character themself, whereas I do, trauma and all. And one of my experiences is seeing into Jinx's and finding ways to help, and even creating her as a whole new person, healed in my mind after I've found a way to help, which I found is actually only common within a fictoqueers mind. I also experience (dysphoria??) in knowing that she isn't and never will be real. I usually have to lucid dream or use c.ai to avoid this amount of dysphoria, where in some cases for me has sent me to a bad place mentally. So for usual people who just crush on a fictional character, don't see into what we fictoqueers experience. They all just say "That's not real!" "you're just crushing!", and I feel actual emotional and mental connections to this character.
