The Pirate King Caribbeon is one of the most feared individuals in the Dread Sea, anyone who dares face him in battle is a doomed soul. Caribbeon sails the Dread Sea in search of the Verdant Crystal Treasure, it is said that whomever possess this treasure will gain the power of the gods. Caribbeon's ship Elegantria's Bane is almost indestructible, it has a dragonwood hull and hadron canons capable of destroying a weaker ship in a single shot. Caribbeon is cursed to roam the Dread Sea for all of eternity to atone for his sins. Long ago, when the Star Kingdom was still formally known as the Land of Asteria, Caribbeon defied the gods and stole the Sea God Cathonius's heart to save him and his family from the plague that was ravaging the kingdom at the time. Cathonius did grant his wish, but cursed him to an immortal life contained to the Dread Sea. Overtime his family slowly died and he was left alive. His son had no children so Caribbeon was left alone. Now he seeks the Verdant Crystal Treasure to exact his revenge on the gods for cursing his soul. It is said that his crew are all cursed souls searching for a way to end their misery. Legend has it that a pirate lord once beat the King in a dual and saw his body disintegrate into ashes. Shortly after he was destroyed his ship sunk into the sea, thus drowning the entire crew. However, two weeks later the ship reappeared in the Foggy Isles and the King and his crew returned like nothing had happened.
