Table of contents -Intro -What’s a roleplay? -How to join -All the different ways -Tips -Some recommendations [Intro] If you’ve been on scratch for any amount of time, you probably know that there a lot of roleplays on scratch. Most about cats, but we’ll get to that later. There are countless roleplays here, and it probably seems a bit overwhelming. That’s why I made this. If you need examples of rp's, they are in the actual project, space or click to progress. [What is a roleplay?] It’s exactly what it sounds like. Pretty much, you have a character, and you act as if you were them, usually whilst talking to other characters. If you know rpgs (roleplay games) it is a bit like that, without the actual game part. [How to join] There’s a few ways to join the RP’s, depending on which one it is. Most common you fill out a form something like this: Name//Gender and sexuality//age//personality//looks//other (ex of filling it out is Luna//girl, she/her, bi//14//(+) Kind, funny (=) Brave (-) Impulsive, dim-witted//Tall with brown hair and green eyes. She has an eyepatch covering her left eye as it has a injury//She loves strawberries! ) Sometimes, usually in wcrps (warrior cat roleplays), you can sign up for a “litter” where the looks and name are already determined. In that case, you usually fill out a slightly modified version of the above form. These litters are usually either fcfs (first come first serve-if you apply right you’ll get it) ss (semi-selective - No due date but they give the kit to whoever has the best application) or s (selective- has a due date and picks the best out of all the applications at the due date). [All the different ways] So, you have a character. Now how do you roleplay? Usually, there’s a studio, and if you go into the comments you might see something like this: “ORP-Luna-she/her)) Luna walked along the beach.” ORP means open roleplay, and anyone can join. There are 3 other types of RP’s. CRP means closed roleplay, and usually if you ask to Rp with someone they’ll do a CRP. (Ex CRP w/@yourname). SRP means self roleplay, where you roleplay with yourself. JRP means joint roleplay, a non-canon way to show your style of rp’ing. [tips] -Don't be afraid to ask questions, most people will understand that you're new -When doing personality, separate into (+), (=) and (-) to keep the traits organized -If you see someone write a two comment orp and you write shorter replies, you might want to reply to another orp -Your character can absolutely be different from the og form, it's more of a blueprint -Try to reply as quick as you can, or at least within 24 hours of the reply [Recommendations] If you are just getting into the rps, it might seem hard to find any non-dead ones. Here are some popular roleplays! NON-WARRIORS ROLEPLAYS -Roleplay your way. You basically RP with your oc, however you want. As long as you can type somewhat long responses, it's good for new rp'ers. ...I regret to say that's one of the only non-wcrps I know on scratch. If you know any, tell me so I can add them. WCRP'S This is a link to Fal's profile, they run generations. While it's super fun, it is pretty complicated, so I suggest reading all the info projects on it. In gens you RP with life of a cat, born as a kit and it's great if you want to RP life in the clans as opposed to some great adventure. If you've ever seen my profile, you'll know this is the one I'm most in. In this RP, you can only get kits from litters. The Silver Shores. This is a less-complicated wcrp with a fantasy twist. You can sign up or apply for a kit in a litter. [] This is the end, thanks for reading!
