IF JIJI AND LUNA MET It would have been a dark night, full of fear ebbing around every corner, if it wasn't for the large full moon floating in the sky, sending shafts of silver light on to the dark green grass. Jiji sat by the girls side staring at his black paws. Why did Kiki have to drag him all the way out here? This place was far, far away from the town where she was supposed to practice her magic. Far away from the cat Jiji loved, and his four kittens. He stared off into the inky blackness, dotted with so many star's. It was truly beautiful. Watching it made his heart melt. Was Lily watching that sky as well? "Oh, isn't it just wonderful, Jiji?" Kiki asked, although, it wasn't really a question. "Why did you take me here?!" Jiji snapped, but as soon as those words left his mouth, he felt guilt, twisting inside of his stomach. Kiki looked down at Jiji, hurt swirling around her dark eye's. "Look, Kiki, I'm sorry...I-I didn't mean to snap...I just...." he trailed off, looking away, ashamed. Kiki began to fidget with her fingers, avoiding Jiji's gaze. Jiji had not meant to pierce her heart with his words. Jiji was just tired, and he did not wish to pull himself around the fields in the middle of the night. He wanted to curl up and sleep, and dream of chasing the the mice in the bakery. Kiki turned back to Jiji, a bright smile splayed on her face, completely dismissing what had just happened. "Oh, Jiji, you need not to apologise! I pulled you out here so late at night. I should expected such an outburst from a tired little cat. But i cant practice this magic in the bakery," she began to dig around in her bag, producing something sharp. it glinted in the night. "I would surely hurt someone!" Jiji blinked. What was that thing? What was it for? Why would this magic hurt someone? Kiki knelt to the ground, placing the small sharp object on the grass. Jiji padded forward, sniffing the sharp item. With a closer look, it seemed like a shard of glass, but it smelt like rain in the mountains. "What is it, Kiki?" Jiji queried. "You'll see. NOW STAND BACK!!!" Kiki cried. She now held a bendy brown stick, pointing it at the shard of glass. She began to mutter something under her breath, closing her eyes. Leaves on the ground began to float, and Kiki's dress, hair and bow, began to billow. The shard of glass started to levitate and brightly shine. It grew brighter, and brighter, growing to be blinding. Jiji squinted. He wanted to watch, but it hurt his eyes. He squeezed them shut, but the light still could be made out through closed eyelids. He spun around, burying his head underneath his paws. Suddenly, there was a short scream. Jiji froze. He spun around, jaw open slightly. "Kiki-?" But to his horror, Kiki was nowhere to be seen, and in her place stood another black cat. TO BE CONTINUED IN CHAPTER 2!!
