The plants grow at random locations on the screen. When they finish their growing period, they die off. After a while, the ants appear. If within sniffing distance, they will travel towards the plants and start eating them. A plant that is being eaten shrinks. The ants only grow if they eat. Without plants to eat, the ants die. If they manage to stay alive long enough to get to their first reproduction cycle, an ant will give birth to a brood of baby ants. The idea is to see how long the ant colony can survive for. You can mess with the variables to see what works best.
