Poem I wrote below: In today’s society it’s easy to be sucked into depression or anxiety. But like the moon, it has phases that will pass and go. Sometimes the moon may even be a blood moon. It’s beautiful but can hurt your eyes if you aren’t careful. Like all things. Even though the moon is well known it is just like us. It has craters that it wants to fix. It tries to fill it with rocks and such but it only fills the crater for so long until it eventually cracks the moon. We all have craters of our own. The brightest of stars eventually explode. Break. And show its true light. But this is okay. It’s natural. And I will still love my favorite star. You. As much as I always have, even if you do explode. It’s natural, all stars do. Some days I also explode as a star. I’m not perfect. Perfection doesn’t exist in a world that isn’t cube and binary. That’s okay. The small moments of imperfection or even the biggest moments can shape us into who we are. Whether that be positive or negative. So when you feel sad or as if you weren't made for this world, remember that this world is shaped by us, by everyone. Beauty isn’t always smooth, aesthetic, skinny, perfect, etc. All the makeup in the world won’t make someone more or less pretty. What makes someone pretty is their heart. Why they do what they do. If the world does one day end, then do your best to help. Take care of our fragile environment. And if you can’t. That’s okay. Instead try doing small things that make your and everyone else’s existence a little better. And remember. Me & the moon are here
Credits to Samara Hernandez for the art I used as a overlay :) Everything else is by me! Art is made in ibis, then edited in Piscart and the music is all by me, made in GarageBand. I hope this comforts you like it comforts me. Different things may comfort us. What may help me may hurt you. Mix different paints, see what shade resonates with you. You may see shades that aren’t pretty to your eyes, that’s okay. Trial and error will happen. Remember the things that make you happy, that make you feel free. The shackles we are bound to by society can be broken. These are things that make me happy: My family, friends, art, books, music, my deity, flowers, the moonlight, food, nature…there’s so many when you actually think! Isn’t that wonderful? :)
