OK so most people have come to the conclusion that Loampaw is the monster of the hunt. All of the description matches EXCEPT for the pelt of night. So to patch this up I made a couple theories of what could've happened: A. The storyteller was not the one who actually saw it. She might have heard it from someone else, maybe another storyteller, or a friend of her's, and details got confused. Basically the game of telephone B. Loampaw has two forms; the ginger tabby cat one, and a giant monsterlike one, which has more black and/or darker colors than the cat one. C. The storyteller exaggerated details to make it more of a tall tale, saying it was huge and had "a pelt of night" just to make it sound more dramatic D. The storyteller saw Loampaw in shadows/darkness/at night It could also be a mix of a few of these, but hey that's just a theory. A scratch theory. thanks for listening to me yap.
this is assuming the loam = monster theory is true. I could be totally wrong lol.
