WRITTEN IN PERSPECTIVE OF LUCAS I knocked on the front door of my house. It was a solid, tall, brick building with seven windows, and 3 floors, one of which was the attic. My dad opened up the door. “How’s my favourite son?” He asked. The word “son” made my stomach turn. My little sister did a lot of acting- I learned from the best. “Great dad!” I said, the fakest smile on my face. “I’m so happy to be home though!”. Newsflash; I was not. “I’m gonna go game with Carl and Charlie in my room!” I lie. “Ok. Joseph might come and annoy you, he’s home early today.”. Joseph’s my older brother. Like me, he’s a secretly queer member of a homophobic family . He’s bisexual and genderfaun. “Urgh, fine…” I say. Dad can’t know about our secret little queer sibling alliance. All our other siblings are homophobic as well… same for our mum. I race up to my room, to find Joseph sitting on my bed. “Joe!” I shout. “How was your date with Jess?!?”. “It was good… how’s ‘Charlie’ lil’ sis?” He says with a sort of sarcastic smile that makes me want to laugh. “shhhhhhh!!! Mum or dad will hear you!!!!” I grin. Joe knows I’m trans. And that I like Charlie. Yes, I like Charlie, which is hopeless, seeming he’s homophobic… but he’s so hot! So that’s when I tell him the whole thing, everything that happened. “I’m proud of you Lucy,” he says. “Roof meeting. 11pm. Ok?” He asks. “You got it.” I nod. As he leaves, I set up my Xbox. What, just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I don’t like gaming!
