I’ve probably shared this a few times, but I wrote this poem in seventh grade and it’s short but it’s one of my favorite things I’ve written.
I watched her walk past me, Her eyes, sky blue, silky blonde hair, and as tall as the rack beside me, I watched her, a queen, as people looked at her, bowing down, Even her soul was spotless. I caught the invisible nausea running down my throat, As the beautiful girl smiled, My soul shriveled in pity, And I died inside. I looked at the world bustling around me, Wishing that I could look like her, As a stranger made me feel like, The whole population despised my beating heart. -how self worth can disappear
