Amber Hawthorne was reading silently. It was a week before the Reaping. Her mother was yelling at Gale for coming so late. The reason was Katniss Everdeen. Amber despised Katniss with all her heart. It was her fault that Gale always was so late. So lovesick. Amber Hawthorne is Gale's younger sister by three years. She is exceptional at sword fighting, topper, and helpful. A month ago, a new peacekeeper and his son entered District 12. His name was Chase Snow. Yes, President Snow's grandson. Since he arrived, he was every girl's dream boy—strong, handsome, gentlemanly, and loving. Amber was lying on her bed reading when she heard a tap on the window. She knew who it was. It had been happening for two weeks. Chase would come into Amber's room daily, at night. At first, Amber tried hard to ignore him, but he would always melt her in the end. He would send her roses, cuddle her, and make sure she was fine at night. Another tap. Amber groaned and opened the window. Chase practically jumped on her as the window opened. "You take forever, you know?" He said hugging her. "Maybe I was ignoring you on purpose,” Amber replied sitting on the bed. “You wouldn’t dare ignore my handsome face,” Chase said half joking and half seriously as he proceeded to sit next to her. “If I do?” Amber said giggling as Chase snuggled into her neck. “I will be mad,” Chase said against her neck. “You shouldn’t be here,” Amber said.
