Q30: Do you find it hard to write the first chapter/ prologue? A: Yes. The starting point of a story will make or break a book. A reader must be pulled in, intrigued, fascinated. They must want to glimpse the next word or page. A boring, jejune start is doomed to disappoint. If you have a bad start, you will deem the book unworthy. In this way, a book is like a contract. The reader must be willing to experience the magic, and an author must be willing to provide. To be found lacking in depth and intrigue is a terrible woe. To start a book right is what I most struggle with. After all, a book is nothing without a reader, and a reader must be willing to open the book. ︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶
