Sorry this is so late, it took waaay too long :,) I tried my hand at making a couple mood boards/collage things, but I'm not too great at it. On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden The story is told in two very different times. We see the main character, Mia, as an adult, working on a construction crew that works on old historical buildings. However, the book frequently flashes back to Mia's freshman year of high school and the girl she met there. It's got some VERY pretty art with a queer romance in the middle of it all. Strong Female Protagonist by Brennan Lee Mulligan Molly Knox Ostertag This is an excellent subversion of the "superhero" trope and is one the best comics I've ever read in terms of storyline and plot. Greetings from Grisley Call me lazy, but this thing is almost impossible to explain, so I'll just put the author's description here: "Charlotte Crivens, was tragically superorphaned at the tender age of twenty-whatever, when a septic tank exploded at a reunion she had forgotten to attend, killing her entire family. Using her many modest inheritances, she bought a supernaturally dreadful neighborhood, full of all manner of monsters and weirds and dorks on Craigslist and left her hometown of Hometown Wyoming for Grisley… the forgotten borough of New York that nobody likes to talk about." Nevermore A wlw slow-burn mystery about two girls who wake up in the afterlife. They do not remember who they used to be, but they quickly make their way to Nevermore Academy, where everyone is suspect. The characters are all based on stories written by Edgar Allen Poe, and it's quite a fun read :) 2. Blades of Furry A webtoon about two ice skaters competing against each other in a skating tournament revolving around a fictional sport that is a mix of figure skating and fighting. Emil, a professional figure skater, learns a secret about a contestant that could get that contestant disqualified, but instead the two become friends - and eventually boyfriends. Relatonships between the contestants is also illegal, though, and this puts both of them at risk. it's really sweet and funny, and you don't need to be a furry to enjoy the story. (all the characters are anthropomorphized, sometimes fictitious animals, though) 3. Bugtopia This is a really fun story that follows a ladybug who is adopted by a spider, along with all his friends and other members of the city of Bugtopia. If you don't like bugs, this probably won't be the thing for you, but I thought it was quite sweet :) ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~ ACTUAL BOOKS ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~ 1. The Princess & the Grilled Cheese Sandwich by Deya Muniz When Lady Camembert's father dies, she is told to dress as a man and go to a house he has in the city, claiming to be his son, as women cannot inherit in the kingdom of fondue, and Lady Camembert has no interest in marrying a man. In the city, she quickly gets involved with Princess Brie. Between event planning and going to glamourous balls, they both begin to fall for each other. Cute, sapphic, and cheesy ;) 2. The Infinity Particle by Wendy Xu Set in a future, this story follows a girl who loves to tinker and create who lands a job working for her idol, Dr. Lin. Dr. lin has a very lifelike ai assitant, who this girl soon falls for. But all is not as it seems with this ai and his creator. 3. The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang A fantasy about a Prince & a Dressmaker (crazy, I know) it explores non-binary identities in such an easy-to-understand way and the art and dress designs are amazing :) (also... cute romance >:D) (cont'd in notes & credits)

Fruits basket (I watched the original show, but that might just be because I'm weird. the 2019 remake is good -at least from what I've heard- and is also probably easier to find) It's a very feel-good anime about a girl who discovers that a family who turns into zodiac animals every so often is living right next to her, and all the weirdness that comes out of that :) 2. Spy x Family You might have already seen this one, but when I read "Demon Slayer," this was my first thought. It starts off with a spy who, for his next assignment, needs a family. So he adopts an orphan who (unbeknownst to him) is a telekinetic (as any reasonable person would) and then marries a woman who, again, unbeknownst to him, is an asassin. Nothing supernatural, but it's got the same vibe and is an interesting watch :)
