Aiden started pulling things out of his bag, blocking my view as I tried to look over his shoulder to see what he brought. "You can wait a few more minutes." He said. I glared at him,"You know I don't do well when it comes to being patient." He smiled at me, "This is a good opportunity to practice then." I sat down pouting, although I really was enjoying this, but I'd play along with his game. "Fine then. I don't want it anyway." "Oh but you do." He said pulling out fancy raspberry and yogurt parfaits. I gasped, "No way!" "You're mot the only one with secret snack stashes." We sat on the blanket in the now setting sun as we snacked on the different raspberry related foods he brought. I also asked him what caused the different colors in a sunset, but honestly didn't pay much attention. I would never understand all this science stuff. "Thank you so much for this," I told him once I was full. "It's nice to enjoy a meal without being judged by Chloe." "Yeah no kidding." He said packing things up. "I really enjoyed it. Cole isn't very talkative and I can't really have this kind of a relationship with Chloe." This kind of relationship? What was that supposed to mean? Oh no, he didn't think... Well we were on a nice picnic, and it was just the two of us. He didn't say it was anything like that... but he didn't say it wasn't. Okay, play it cool, I told myself, don't go making a fool of yourself. Just act normal. You're likely just freaking out over nothing. "Yeah I get what you mean," I told him, even though I really didn't. "It's just hard to find someone you can trust, y'know? Someone you can talk to." He glanced over at me. I nodded, now that was something I understood perfectly. "So, is there anything you want to talk about?" I asked leaving it up to him. I really didn't know what to do, if this was some sort of date and he did like me. Was I just supposed to tell I didn't feel the same way. Maybe I was just overreacting "Well," Aiden said, interrupting my spiraling thoughts. There actually is something, and I might as well say it now. " He paused, running his fingers through his hair. "Don't feel pressured to say anything your not comfortable with." I said, giving him one last chance to change his mind. As he looked into my eyes I could see the sincerity in his. But there was something more, something deeper. He looked away before I could place it. "I--well," He let out a long sigh, "it's about the day of the fire."
