He is easily excitable in open areas like fields, but he is pretty well behaved with a calm, assertive rider. Fog behaves well with any rider in an enclosed space like an arena, so he is great with beginners when not ridden in an open space. This lets him emerge in first place often, but only when ridden by an experienced rider who knows how to get him to focus on his footing and striding between jumps. If you let Hyperion rush through a course, he will likely knock some rails and just be an overall bumpy ride. When ridden correctly, though, Hyperion is a smooth and fun ride with heaps of potential to win. She isn't ideal for someone new to riding in general, though, since she gets spicy if her rider is causing her discomfort with a bouncy seat or poor balance. She requires a lot of desensitization work before she can even walk near a cross country course again. Meanwhile, she has been enjoying some low-level show jumping competitions to get her to have fun jumping again.
