Meet Leander, he's my favorite OC. 1. happy 2. sad 3. shocked 4. angry 5. desperate ================================================== heterochromia noun het·ero·chro·mia \-ˈkrō-mē-ə\ Medical Definition of heterochromia : a difference in coloration in two anatomical structures or two parts of the same structure which are normally alike in color <heterochromia of the iris> ================================================== Heterochromia is cool~ Its existence doesn't necessarily mean that there's an underlying problem. It can be benign. //but you all probably know that// ================================================== Okay, so yes, I RP using Leander a bit. I'm a writer, so I need practice writing him, making him come to life and seem believable. I want to stretch him out, find what motivates him, makes him more human. It's really quite fun, actually, like he's not imaginary, like he's becoming his own character, like I don't actually control his actions. I guess it's kind of my problem, like a lot of his traits are being taken from me, or my personality. But that's okay, because I feel like I really understand him, how he would react to things, what he would choose... ...It just makes me really happy, as a writer. ================================================== Leander has a very complex story. People in the series who can foresee the future are called diviners, and they are hunted down for foretelling the prophecy of the High King's death, which states that a diviner will make his end. Leander isn't a normal diviner; though his bloodline should have passed the gift of foresight down to him, he instead is able to sense the wind. When I say sense, it's probably not in the way you're thinking. But he has a special connection with it, and the wind is more of a sentient being than something that can be controlled. More or less, though, the wind is his friend. He is searching for the Curse (I can't reveal what that means) and stumbles upon a group of diviners in hiding. In exchange for information about the Curse, Leander agrees to assassinate the High King's son, Aaron. While searching for Aaron, Leander is saved by two strangers, one of whom claims to be a diviner searching for shelter, and the other a hostile sibling of the first. In reality, the first stranger is Aaron's twin sister. The second is Aaron. Aaron's sister is, in fact, a diviner, and Aaron is unsure of his loyalties, and both go by fake names. I'm not going to reveal anything else about the plot, but I will say that Aaron and Leander become best friends, or as close as they can when they're hiding both their identities. (Leander is well-known for being an abnormal diviner searching for the Curse.) In case you're interested, Leander introduces himself as "Nico Phoenix"...which he made up on the spot, using a combination of the name of a nearby bar and the last name of a famous dead criminal. Smooth, Leander. ================================================== General Description *Role: Protagonist *Name: Leander Adonis Emery (under hiding, known as Nico Phoenix) *Fears: Confined spaces, crowds *Flaw(s): Unpredictable, forgets to eat, poor cooker, not good with kids, not a morning person, rebellious, procrastinates, believes everyone is motivated by self-interest, somewhat cynical/ doesn't trust easily. (He doesn't believe in hope, but Aaron changes that.) *Strengths: Passionate, strong perseverance, social intelligence (somewhat biased because of his cynicism), kind to a fault (convinces himself that he's not trusting those he helps, that he just likes to be kind), forgiving, humorous, can detach from emotions to control stress without harming others/self. *Inner conflict: He finds out that the stranger that saved his life and became friends with him is the man he's been hired to kill. He's been aching for companionship since his father's death, and grapples with his morality and guilt. *Secret(s): True identity, being hired to kill his friend. *Quirk(s): Whistles the same song at random intervals, can't drink anything with ice in it, constantly quotes movies/books *in canon universe, quotes infamous poetry*, doodles in non-canon compliant universes. perpetually cold, bites lip, somewhat paranoid, sarcastic, stutters under stress/blurts out ridiculous stories/facts under stress. *Theme: Learning to trust. *Desire(s): Companionship, fulfilling his father's wishes (which have to do with finding the Curse) *Promise: Never to trust after his father's death (which never works out.) ================================================== Don't worry, he's not actually cliche with his paranoia. He's mentally stable. I like to think I made an interesting protagonist that's actually relatable. ================================================== Sorry for long notes!
