Prologue As the train pulled into the station, me and my friend looked into each other's eyes. When we came to this planet, we only came with a couple things and each other. When we had to flee our planet, there was limited space for our families to get in, so they sent us together without them. When arriving on this planet with the countless others who came with us, the people of this planet led us all to a train station where they would figure out where to send us from the station. We were waiting together, hand in hand when we found we would be separated when being relocated. “Please don’t forget me.” They say as they look into my eyes, sadness covering their frail face. “You’re my best friend, of course I'm not going to forget you.” I say as I pull them into an embrace, not quite wanting to let go. They had been my friend since I was five, and now four years later we were being separated with no promise of seeing each other again. The train made a sound, signalling it was time to board. The train that was pulled into the station was heading to the colony I was being relocated to. The train's automatic doors opened and people flooded in. Reluctantly I loosened my embrace on my friend, looking into their eyes. “Best friends?” They nodded, a small tear slipping from their eyes “Forever”. I slowly loosened my grip on them, running towards the train. As the doors closed behind me, I peered out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of them. Through the sea of people I manage to see their small hand waving through the crowd. They were jumping up and down to make themselves seen. I wave back as the train speeds off towards what will soon be my home. I hope I see them again
