watch the animation in full-screen (or it'll look wonky) i made this for a 6th grade science project the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell i guess... Jesus loves you :) flavor text if u want subtitles scroll down: This is a person. This is a tree. That tree is made of branches, which are made of leaves. Those leaves are made of cells- plant cells. These plant cells are pretty interesting, and today's your lucky day, 'cause YOU are going to learn about plant cells. There's still one big question, though: what are plant cells? Well, plants are just a BUNCH of plant cells clustered together. Plant cells make up plants and are also made up of organelles. These organelles have different functions which all help the plant cells function properly. So, what do these organelles even do? Well, to help you better understand the functions of these organelles, let's think of a plant cell as a plane. The nucleus would be the pilot because it controls the cell, contains the cell's genetic code, and regulates the cell's activities, just like a pilot controls a plane. The nucleolus would be the plane's control center, because it's operated by and located in the nucleus, and assembles ribosomes, just like a plane's control center is operated by the pilot and helps the plane fly smoothly. The cytoplasm would be like the air inside of a plane, because it's a fluid that fills up the inside of the cell, enclosing and protecting the stuff inside of it, just like air fills up and encloses the stuff inside of a plane. The golgi body, or golgi apparatus, would be the plane's flight attendant, because it helps process, package, and manage proteins, just like a flight attendant helps manage and distribute food on a plane. The vacuole would be the plane's trash can, because it stores and disposes of substances, just like trash cans. The plant's mitochondria is like a plane's fuel, because it produces energy from food, just like the fuel produces energy for the plane. The endoplasmic reticulum would be the plane's walkway because it makes and transports proteins and fats, just like the plane's walkway transports people. The plant cell's ribosomes are like the plane's oven, because they produce proteins for the cell, just like the oven produces food for the plane. The cell wall is like the plane's door, because it encloses and protects the cell, just like the door encloses and protects the plane. The plant's chloroplast is like the plane's kitchen, because it turns sunlight into glucose, which is food for the cell, just like the kitchen provides food for the passengers. I hope you've learned something new today, because that's all for this animation! YIPPEEEEEAOPNUEYIRHAUHSlfd
