Some of you may remember this project from last March: Well, my opinions have changed a lot since. So, here's an updated version of that project! Scroll down for side notes: [Sleepovers] "How long" would probably mean at LEAST 6 months. This could also depend... if the kid seems untrustworthy, I'm not so sure I'd want my own kid to be having a sleepover with them. [Dating] Listen. Once you're 13, I'm not going to try and stop you. But my friends that I used to hang out with aren't all the same as they used to be, and we don't really talk anymore. People change; I don't want my children to make the wrong choices. [Bedtimes] This is a difficult question to answer. For one thing, I have sleep issues due to my ADHD, and I'm most hyperactive at night so I stay up late a lot of the time, even if it's just because I'm lying in bed unable to sleep. Likely, I'd end up homeschooling my kids in the future, which would mean there would be a much more open schedule for wake-up times and bedtimes. Another thing I'd like to point out is that I have gotten much better at making my own decisions over the past year. I've been making an effort to sleep more, so hopefully my kids would be the same around 12-13. [Grades] This is much different from public school grades. My middle school has not included any grades, I only started this year due to beginning high school. Since I'd hope that a teenager would be more motivated to try for good grades to actually learn instead of earning prizes, I'm not so sure about this. The one thing that I can confirm is that you should NEVER react negatively to low grades. Most of the time, it's not a choice. Sometimes people just don't understand things, or they really just can't get the motivation to study hard enough. [Devices] My opinion on devices has changed... a lot. Recently I stopped being online as much as I used to, and it has helped... A LOT. For the earbuds and headphones; I can't even with noise. To be honest I kind of wish I had some sort of noise-canceling earbuds, or Bluetooth ones that could play music (which also helps with my motivation)! [Social Media] There is hardly anything worse than social media. Addiction is one main issue. I'd say you shouldn't have social media until you're 12-13 years old, around the time you're mature enough to make better decisions. By limited YouTube, I mean only for certain channels/reasons. For example, I usually use YouTube for tutorials or tips. [Makeup] There's nothing wrong with wearing makeup, unlike what some adults think. At the same time, those 10-year-olds who wear about a pound of makeup each drive me crazy. Stop wearing so much makeup at such a young age -.- [Swearing] Don't swear at the wrong people. Really, you should know by this age how to make the right decisions. I've stopped swearing around other people for the most part (Other than things like damn or oh my god, because most people don't care if you use those-), except on the other hand my journal is- well- yeah- [Allowance] Save it for college >:3 I don't have allowance though :[ [Driving] Do I have to explain this. [Smoking/Drugs] Come on. This is only going to destroy your mental health. Speaking of mental health, if you actually need help, instead of going immediately to harmful substances, try and get some actual help. Otherwise, you're just doing the opposite of what's intended...
