Chapter 14 Quest ------------------ First thing I did? Go to my bunk and flop. Pretty basic. Second thing? Let’s say I gave Jacob a half-way ticket to the Underworld. “Abby!” He yelled after I snuck up on him near the lake. He fell in. “Oops- Sorry!” I yell and grab Jacob. I pull him out. “Thanks.” He says flatly. “Well… I wanted to get that oil off anyways.. So, why did you scare me?” “I wanted to tell you about something.” “So you scare me half way to Hades?!” I think for a bit and say, “Yes.” Jacob laughs and I grin. “Anyways, I need help coping.” “Don’t we all?” I snort, “True. But, now stop getting me off task!” “Aright, alright,” He says, making a ‘I surrender’ motion with his hands and sits down on the dock. I sit next to him. “Okay, so,” I say, “I guess there’s this prophecy and weirdness or something and Rachel thinks it about me and such,” Jacob puts up a hand and I pause. “One question, what’s this prophecy?” I tell him it and he just says, “How in the name of Tartarus does that apply to you?” “That’s what I’m asking, thank you!” I say. Jacob grins. “So you wanted me to do… What?” “I don’t know! I just wanted to tell you because maybe you could help me make sense of it!” “Hey, you're the Athena kid. I’m the Hephestus kid, I don’t know anything about ‘logic’ and that stuff.” “I suppose…” “So let me ask a better question… What should we do about it?” “I have 0 ideas.” “Heyy, me too!” I laugh. /Wow, he’s cute and funny./ I blink. I really gotta stop simping. I make a circle in the water. “So I guess I need people to come with me on a quest or something…” Jacob nods, screwing up his face like how he does when he’s trying to think. “So… Will you come with me?” I blurt out. Jacob’s eyes widen, “Uhh sure? I mean are we gonna face certain death?” “Yes. Probably. I don’t know, I just got here,” I say and throw my hands up. My hands go down as Jacob says, “Sure, I don’t have anything better to do!” I laugh, “Okay. Thanks,” and then get up. I go to the Athena cabin and ask Havi to come. “Uh, sure?” She says. I smile. Then Aternus comes over and signs something to me. I grab the sign-language book I’ve been reading and come to the conclusion that he asked “Can I come too?” Either that or “What is mustard.” I say, “Uhh sure?” and Aternus gives me a thumbs up. I climb up onto my bunk when it hits me. Wait.. But that’s four people.. /Oh no. What am I gonna do? I want everyone to come, but I don’t want someone to not come back./ I sigh. /I’ll ask Chiron tomorrow./
