This is just what I've been analyzing on the different aspects and skill sets that specific creators have. I am NOT ranking them nor criticizing them. This is more or less a personal reference for me to consider what to implement in my own amvs. Also, I'm basically half asleep rn, so take this with a grain of salt. I should be writing an essay rn ;-; inkocat: Leans more towards harsher, faster, and very creative transitions, going from scene to scene quickly. However, she does make some scenes last longer to add emphasis to the lyrics. Despite different scenes being fairly short, they are incredibly detailed with constant motion to look busy. She also does this circular, swirly motion a lot with her subjects, resulting in sort of a shaky camera effect and looks nice for hyped, fast paced actions. Very recently, she's been making good use of skewed text, which adds some depth and more flowy animation. Her song representation is really good, with her energetic style really fitting with energetic songs. hhero: A very unique style, where he is very smooth and slow paced. He makes good use of arcs and is really good at adding flow in his amvs. He is incredibly good at song representation, matching color palettes and pacing with the mood of the song. His artwork is very clean. He is also very effects oriented, using lines as accents and pen for blurs and elemental effects (very similarly to birdie, which makes sense since they're related). I especially love his impact frames for paper thin. He has very good attention to detail and his transitions are incredibly unique and flowy. Also, his swirls are iconic and really are unmatched to any other transition. birdie: He puts very heavy emphasis on pen effects, and it is honestly the most iconic part of his style. He has really mastered the pen tool and uses it for more than a simple smear, and rather makes it an integral part of his amvs. The pen tool also allows for really good artwork in his amvs. He also has a very chaotic style, using flashing lights and distorted frames to add energy. He makes very good use of impact frames and arcs. He also has a great variety in transitions, varying from swirls to just hard jumpcuts. I honestly can't do birdie's style justice by putting it into words since it's so visual oriented, so I highly recommend watching his amv: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1076396482/ purble: His style has been evolving into something very unique. She's embraced the low fps and is excellent at arcs, easing, and timing, which creates that smooth flow in his amvs. A very iconic part of her style is his transitions. She has his subjects flow into each other and makes good use of match cuts. Her coloring is really good as well, giving emphasis to the things that matter most and matching the mood. Also, he's been very experimental in animating, using different effects and experimenting with perspective. She's even implemented stop motion in one of his map parts. I can only imagine what purble will come up with next. quatron: I remember him from early 2020, mostly from his stay mini map. He's improved greatly since then. His amvs are really smooth and he creates very unique effects that really reflect the music well. He also has a good handle on art and backgrounds, creating a really good atmosphere in his amvs. Another big aspect of his amvs is the colors. He has really good knowledge of color theory and his colors fit the mood really well. His style has 2020 era roots mixed with current techniques. that's all the animators i'm willing to analyze now. idk if my takes were any good but then again I'm really tired. mangle pronouns reference
