The walk back with Jack was awkward and silent. We didn’t talk; it wasn’t like we could anyway. Soon, we arrived at the Slytherin common room entrance, with its towering two-wooden doors and its intricate carvings of serpents winding up and down the frame, it was almost imposing. I looked up at Jack one more time, then pointed at the wooden doors. ‘You're a Slytherin?’ he mouthed slowly. I nodded, taking a tentative step closer toward the doors. I didn’t know what snapped inside of me, but I didn’t want to leave Jack. I didn’t want to go inside the dark and depressing common room with the green wallpaper and lanterns. “I need help” Even though I couldn’t hear what I just suddenly blurted out, I felt the words jumbling out as they rolled off my tongue. Jack raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised that I just said something out loud. I expected him to laugh at how silly my voice must’ve sounded, but instead, he pulled out a notepad and started scribbling on it. Jack handed me the notepad and quill, his handwriting neat but hurried. ‘Help with what?’ it read. ‘I can’t say the password out loud’ I wrote, ‘Not without multiple of tries’ Jack read the note, his brow furrowing slightly. ‘Should I say the password for you?’ he scribbled, handing it over to me. I nodded cautiously. Jack hesitated for a moment, then politely snatched the quill from my hand and started writing. ‘All right, what’s the password?’ I hesitated for moment, making sure no one was looking; if anyone knew that I was giving off the password, especially to a Gryffindor, I would be in huge trouble. ‘It’s blood-purity' I finally wrote, my hands shaky as if I were scared someone might jump out of nowhere and murder me at the spot. Jack raised an eyebrow and mouthed the word that looked like it formed ‘What?’ but he said the password anyway. The brass doors swung open with a creak as the Slytherin common room revealed itself, dark and familiar. I stood there, watching I was in the African safari and I’ve just caught a rare bird. I looked away from the doors and back to Jack, his blue eyes stared back at me for a moment then he took a step back. ‘I’ll see you later?’ he mouthed. I nodded though I didn’t grasp half of the things he said. As Jack walked away, I headed into the common room. The green lights overtaking my eyesight once more. Once I got into the common room, all I wanted to collapse into a couch and just forget about everything; the fact I’m a werewolf, the knowledge that I slapped Luna, that a boy named Jack Potter just saved me from hitting the hard stone floor and now we might’ve just befriended each other. It was all too much to handle, but just as I was about to collapse onto a couch, I saw Regulus. With a notepad in his hand, he was on one of the couches, staring at me like I was a new species of Kangaroo found in Australia. I stood there, not really knowing whether I should approach him or slip past him and acted like he didn’t exist. What was he doing here anyway? Wasn’t he supposed to be at the hospital wing? Processing what I had just done to my best friend. Well, maybe there wasn’t anything worth to be at the hospital wing since I ran away. But how did he get here before me? Maybe I spent a bit too much of time being with Jack. Regulus didn’t break his gaze, and I knew I should just walk up to him. But how? I took a hesitant step forward, my feet feeling heavier with each one. ‘Regulus,’ I spelled slowly then grabbed the notepad suddenly and started writing. ‘Teach me how to lip read’
Sorry for not posting in a while. Its just my teachers give me so much homework that I have barely any time to do anything else
