☾ xiv. sixteen mirrors ☼ map application ☾ user w/o @ — nocturidae ☾ kit i'm applying for — i'm applying for the beloved mapkit! <3 ☾ future gender — i'm planning for mapkit to be transmasc in the future! he will most likely transition during early apprenticeship, and will use he/him pronouns. <3 ☾ future orientation — map will most likely be homoromantic, and will only be attracted to male-aligning cats! ☾ personality — map will have a drastically different personality as a kit than as a warrior, i will list both his kithood personality and his adulthood personality! ( + ) adventurous, cheery, bold ( = ) blunt, carefree, light-hearted ( - ) morbid, violent, apathetic ✧ as a kit, he will fully embrace the mini-morpho nature! however, as he begins to mature, he starts to feel that perhaps his way of thinking is... wrong, and starts to feel intensely guilty for being so open to the idea of murder even though it seems to be widely accepted by a lot of his clan. ( + ) polite, empathetic, gentle ( = ) reserved, hesitant, unassuming ( - ) withdrawn, paranoid, distrustful ✧ as he ages, his personality will begin to shift to something like this. he'll have a difficult time telling what's wrong from right, and will hold a lot of hatred towards himself and his clan. ✧ during his apprenticeship at some point, i plan for him to kill someone. having expected to feel happy as always afterwards, he would feel surprised that he felt absolutely awful about it. he will wonder if something is wrong with him, and ultimately begins to spiral whilst continuing to kill due to a belief that it is in fact okay, and that he shouldn't feel so bad about it. ☾ research — hearing loss ✧ i'm not entirely sure what exactly causes his early deafness, however here are a list of symptoms that he will experience during his apprenticeship up until he loses his hearing completely. ☾ muffled speech — to mapkit, speech will sound muffled and he may have difficulty understanding words. he'll often ask cats to repeat what they said in a louder tone and to speak more clearly. ☾ overwhelmed in busy settings — mapkit will often find himself feeling overwhelmed and disoriented in busy settings, especially when someone is speaking to him. he will often subconsciously strain to make out what people are saying, even if it's only background noise. ☾ tinnitus — mapkit will likely experience tinnitus, or ringing in his ears due to his hearing loss. ☾ research — deafness ✧ once he reaches warrior age, he will be completely deaf. below is a list of how this will affect him. ☾ increased sensitivity to smells — over time, mapkit will begin to develop an increased sensitivity towards smells. due to this, he will in turn develop a talent for tracking due to his sensitivity towards scent trails. ☾ lack of response to sounds — mapkit will stop responding to the sound of his own name or reacting to loud noises as time goes on. ☾ increased alertness — mapkit will be more alert towards his surroundings, and will intentionally stay near places where cats are unable to sneak up on him, such as camp walls. he'll be very sensitive to the vibrations, and will likely learn to tell when something is approaching him. he will be more easily startled, and will generally avoid dangerous situations as much as he can. ☾ less frequent speaking — over time, mapkit will begin to favor non-verbal signals over verbal signals, and in turn will begin to speak less. when he does speak, he may frequently mispronounce words or they may sound a bit warped. ☾ louder or quieter speaking — since mapkit can't hear how loud he is, he often misjudges the volume as his voice and will often either speak very loudly or very quietly. ✧ please let me know if any of this is inaccurate in any way, or if i missed any important details! i had some trouble finding good sites for research, as they all sort of repeated the same thing.
