♞ Welcome To Special Seniors Rescue! ♞ How It Works You adopt a one of our special senior horses that are all looking for a loving home to spend their golden years at. The more you update on your senior, the more poses you can earn...for free! Click on the clipboards to find out even more details about each horse! Update Ideas Here's some update ideas to get you started: - Health Issues - Trail Rides - Kids Riding - Lessoning/Lessoning Kids Donating A Horse We also accept incoming senior horses. If you have a senior you would like to find a home through our program, leave a message below! We can usually offer a small amount of money in exchange for your horse. New Poses: For every two updates, you can fill out the New Pose Form at the bottom to earn a new pose for your senior. Here's the catch: For your first pose, you only have to have one update! From then on though, you need to present two updates that at least mention you and the horse with a picture of the horse being present. For example: "I went to pasture to get Dusty, but stopped by [senior name] really quickly to give her some treats." That would count as a viable update as long as the senior is pictured. "Lucy" Breed: Haflinger Crossbreed Gender: Mare Age: 29 Status: Walk/Minimal Trot Rides, In-Hand Work Health: Well Loves: Getting Groomed, Scratches, Getting Her Hair Braided Fears: Dogs Personality: Lucy is super-sweet and chill. She will patiently tolerate kids running around her and even playing under her! She's afraid dogs though, due to a past experience when one bit her. She can live at a home that owns dogs, as long as the owner is willing to be careful about dogs being around her. Lucy is always up for a good cuddle in the afternoon, morning, night- you name it! But don't forget to bring the treats! "Tony" Breed: Paso Fino Gender: Gelding Age: 19 Status: Walk/Trot/Minimal Canter Rides, In-Hand Work Health: DSLD (Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Desmitis), Poor Teeth Loves: All Treats & Food, Ear Scratches Fears: Hair Clippers Personality: Tony is elegant and formal. He loves high-stepping movement and has a gorgeous, smooth trot. He does have a crazy side though! According to his rules, he needs to be in charge of his pasture herd. He will fight for his head position, so he's best in a group of more passive horses, though he doesn't discriminate due to gender. He hates hair clippers and will spook when he hears them! He also has DSLD, which usually isn't a large problem but can affect him on certain chilly mornings and especially during the winter. Fun Fact - Tony's previous owner was a big Avengers fan and nicknamed him after Tony Stark! King Kai "Kai" Breed: Welsh Pony Gender: Stallion Age: 20 Status: Trail Rides, Lessoning, Small Flat Shows, In-Hand Work Health: Sway-Back Loves: Being Groomed, Strawberries Fears: Dental treatments Personality: Kai is a good boy. He is an ex-eventer/xc horse and is prominent around the local shows. Many shows have heard of King Kai "Kai". Kai is rather sweet and calm for the most part. He will act up if you don't bring him his food at the right time though! He loves to eat. And while he loves being groomed and doesn't mind being in crossties, when the vet comes to do his teeth -- watch out! This boy will kick or even bite. The dental treatment freaks him out! Costs: "Lucy" - 15 HS/GE "Tony" - 15 HS/GE "Kai" - 15 HS/GE Rules: - Not first come, first serve. I'll be selecting the best homes for each horse. - You are absolutely and completely allowed to make an update of your senior passing; of course, if you do this, you cannot update with the horse anymore. - These horses are not intended for breeding, but technically, you can do whatever you want.
