A young girl sits alone in the school cafeteria, her long, flowing blonde hair to her waist, glasses that are... smudged as usual, and a typical schoolgirl's uniform. She didn't have the money for lunch, sadly, and in her own words: ❝Brother forgot to make me lunch again....❞ She glanced over at the new girl who had moved here a few weeks ago, the pretty, purple-eyed American girl. The other girls she was sitting next to ate as they chatted. ❝Amethyst, your eyes are so cute!❞ one girl commented. ❝That's the 40th or so time you've mentioned them!❞ ❝I get you all like me, but I want to know more about you all!❞ Amethyst giggled. The other girl eyed her from across the room; they were focused on talking, not paying attention to their food, so she took an opportunity. This girl, Jin Kuzahara, was good at some scandalous things, including stealing without being caught. She'd done it before. Many times actually, never been caught. Jin quickly got up from where she was sitting and made her way to Amethyst and the others table, making sure to not be seen, and grabbed a random lunch. She didn't care; she just needed to eat. Jin retreated to the stairwell near her locker to eat when she heard footsteps. Nothing unusual; people come by here all the time. She continued eating silently when she felt someone sit next to her underneath the stairwell. She nearly dropped the food. ❝Ah!❞ She flinched slightly as she and the person were making shoulder-to-shoulder contact. ❝W-why are you here?! Who are you?❞ The girl spoke up. ❝I'm Amethyst!❞ She said with a smile...a very kind and gentle one. Amethyst observed the food Jin was eating. ❝Is that my lunch? You took it?❞ Jin stammered, ❝W-well, umm, I...ummm...❞ Amethyst interrupted Jin's stuttering. ❝Were you hungry? If you wanted to share or something, I would have gladly done so. You don't need to take it.❞ This girl was so...kind. Jin had never taken notice before of Amethyst's other features, other than her purple eyes, of course. Her voice was smooth and sweet, her face; fair and feminine. She was so...perfect. Jin was in shock for a second; she opened her mouth to speak, but Amethyst spoke up first. ❝It seems there's still some food left; wanna share?❞ Jin was silent for a minute before nodding. ❝Great!❞ As they ate together and chatted a bit, Jin felt warm inside and... maybe something else? She'd have to question THAT later; Amethyst asked her something. ❝Would you like to come over to my place?❞ ❝Huh?❞ Amethyst repeated ❝Do you want to go to my house...?❞ Jin replied. ❝I'm not sure if I can do that... my brother would get angry...❞ Jin's older brother was quite protective of her. She didn't understand why he gave her bruises some days or forgot she even existed on others, but she assumed it was just 'his way of doing things.' ❝My...my brother wouldn't want me going...sorry.❞ The bell rang as it was time for the next class. The girls got out from underneath the stairs and exchanged a few words before going to their next classes. ❝You want to talk again sometime? I'd really like to know more about you!❞ ❝Oh...sure thing....❞ ❝Great, see you later!❞ Amethyst made her way down the hall to her next class. As she left, Jin felt a bit... sad?
