Hello! Disclaimer: this is just me yapping about orchestra/playing the cello :3 So I am in middle school orchestra! I just started at the beginning of this school year. This is me talking about it! Table of Contents (all included in desc.) 1-How I decided to play cello/be in orchestra 2-What class is like 3-Cello puns I might add more later, anything you want to hear about? 1-How I decided to play the cello/be in orchestra So um funny story…I kinda joined orchestra because I didn’t want to do P.E…BUT that isn’t the only reason okay! When it was elective signup time the orchestra teacher talked to all of the classes and told us about it. She said that you have an amazing experience, and it goes all the way through highschool, and that you make a lot of friends! I thought it sounded cool! (And orchestra counted for P.E.) As for the cello, I actually planned to play the violin. On the first day, as she was calling role, my teacher asked us what instrument we played/wanted to play. AND LITERALLY ALL BUT 7 PEOPLE SAID VIOLIN! (There are like 24 kids in my class). There were 5 violas, (the “perfect number” according to my teacher), 1 bass (we needed 2), and one cello…we needed 4. So, someone volunteered to play bass, yet no one volunteered for cello. Then, our teacher played a video of some guy playing the cello and (getting real sappy here lol) I just watched it, thinking “you know…I could play the cello” and then slowly but surely raised my hand. “I…will play the cello.” (That was not what I said lol, I said “umm I guess, why not”) Then the next day, a guy who hadn’t been there the first day wanted to. We never got the fourth cello player :( 2-What class is like So there are about 24-ish people in my class. There are three classes in total, but in different periods. We have 3 cellos, 5 violas, 2 bases, and then like 15 violins? Everyone’s pretty nice, we also have a group chat with the majority of us on it. My stand partner is the girl who first volunteered to play the cello. Here is a quote from her, “If it was legal, I would smack you with my cello like it was a baseball bat” (talking to the other cello player). She also enjoys possums and asking me for the time constantly. I have two other friends in orchestra, they play the viola and bass. Said viola player is @PEARLECENT_ (if you are wondering what a viola is it is the second highest instrument in the string family and is slightly larger than a violin). In class we do a lot of scales, and we currently have two pieces of music that we are working on. 3-Cello Puns Cello there! I’m just cellin’ right now. WE ALL LIVE IN A CELLO SUBMARINE CELLO FROM THE OTHER SIIIIIIIDE CELLO? IS IT ME YOUR LOOKING FOR? I enjoy roasting marshcellos and making s’mores.
